Usage

This template creates a complete URL out of fragmentary source citation information (the minimum required to identify the resource) in the Searchable Ornithological Research Archive (SORA), hosted by the University of New Mexico Library system. Because it is so simple, it is compatible with both Citation Style 1 and Citation Style 2. SORA is not itself a source, but a database of source texts and their bibliographic information.

The main point of this template is to facilitate translation of the old-style SORA URLs to the newer ones (as of 15 February 2013). To this end, it automatically lower-cases the journal name, as required by the new URL format. After all old-style SORA citations are changed to use this template, any further change to SORA URLs in the future can be fixed instantly across Wikipedia simply by updating this template.

Do not subst this template; doing so defeats its purpose.

Just feed the template the journal name, vol./no. and page numbers, as formatted in SORA URLs.
