Template:Infobox event is permanently protected from editing because it is a heavily used or highly visible template. Substantial changes should first be proposed and discussed here on this page. If the proposal is uncontroversial or has been discussed and is supported by consensus, editors may use {{edit template-protected}} to notify an administrator or template editor to make the requested edit. Add link parameter to infoxbox image?[edit]

This edit request has been answered. Set the |answered= or |ans= parameter to no to reactivate your request.

Looking to add Help:Pictures#Links to infobox image. I think this change would do it, but I don't edit templates often and make frequent errors, so please double-check me.

Replace:

Except in very narrow circumstances, images should not have a custom link override. If the subject in the image (or the image itself) has an article, link to it in the caption. You want to have the cropped version of the Roswell Daily Record, but still link to the full picture. I personally would restore the picture of the front page, which doesn't require linking to it in the caption, with |image=, or on the Commons file page.
