The Big Gun (Irish: an Gunna Mór), also called Lackagarrin and Foilnabreachaun, is the tenth-highest[1] mountain peak in Ireland, at 939 metres (3,081 ft) high.[1]
Geography
The mountain is in the eastern part of the MacGillycuddy's Reeks in County Kerry, at grid reference V840845.[1] To the southwest is Cnoc na Péiste and to the north is Cruach Mhór. At its foot are the lakes of Lough Cummeenapeasta and Lough Googh.
It is sometimes referred to as an Irish Munro because it is counted by the Scottish Mountaineering Club as a Furth; a 3,000 ft high peak outside Scotland.[2] Other nearby peaks are Maolán Buí, Feabrahy, Cnoc an Chuilinn, and Brassel Mountain. The Big Gun is one of the Irish Munros.[3]
