The Miskatonic Scale is the eighty-fifth studio album by guitarist Buckethead, and the fifty-fifth installment of the Buckethead Pikes Series.[1][2]

The album was announced on April 6 on two limited edition formats, both of them announced without titles or track listing and was only recognized by its placement within the Pikes series chronology. The first format consists of 300 copies of an untitled white album signed by Buckethead himself. The second version consists of an unspecified amount of copies of an untitled white album with hand drawn covers and signed by Buckethead himself. The second version was only offered until April 13 while the first version lasted until copies sold out. Both limited edition versions were released along with the release of the download edition which included the cover, title, and track listing of the album on May 23.

The album title refers to "Miskatonic University", a fictitious university created by H.P. Lovecraft who Buckethead already paid a tribute to on the album The Elephant Man's Alarm Clock. Bryan Thesis, the artist in charge of the cover, stated that he was asked to draw the cover following an exact description of what it should be "Buckethead sitting on a stool playing from sheet music with H.P. Lovecraft watching him" [3]

A standard edition was announced but has not yet been released.
