UC Riverside Student Recreation Center

The UC Riverside Student Recreation Center is a state-of-the-art facility constructed entirely from student fees, and is available for UCR students who want to engage in physical fitness, sport activities, and general recreational use.[1]
History
UC Riverside Student Recreation Center (SRC) was opened on January, 11 1994. The 155,000 square feet (14,400 m2) structure includes a large swimming pool and spa, tennis courts, an indoor running track, a new gym with multiple courts, classroom kitchen, triple the cardio and weight space, an indoor climbing wall and boulder.[2]
Amenities
In addition to full locker rooms, 6,000 square feet (560 m2) weight training facility, and 3,000 square feet (280 m2) area dedicated to cardio-fitness machines, the Student Recreation Center has many different sporting courts for students to use. Some notable areas include the hardwood basketball court, four racquetball/wallyball courts, and one squash court. It also has three multipurpose rooms.
Uses
Student Recreation Center's main function is for the well-being of the UC Riverside student population through physical fitness and intramural sports. It has also hosted events including student commencement ceremonies, conferences, musical bands and acts.[3]

UC Riverside Highlanders athletics department
The athletics department for UC Riverside, the UC Riverside Highlanders, call the Student Recreation Center home.
Student Recreation Center Arena
The Student Recreation Center Arena (SRC Arena) is located in the building. It seats up to 3,168 people, and is host to the UC Riverside Highlanders athletic teams.
