I am Lane Rasberry, Wikipedia user:bluerasberry, and this is my Wikipedia will and testament to be applied at my death. I began this document on Saturday 14 September 2019.

I am writing this in the circumstance of sudden inspiration of reading and producing Wikipedia articles on apocalyptic scenarios. At this time I only have expectations of a long, healthy, happy, productive life.

I monitor my Wikipedia account regularly and see it as more secure than any other publishing medium. Many people know me to use this account, and we have a shared culture of observing the activities of our accounts, so by publishing this I am being as clear as possible in my wishes. Of all the possible ways for me to communicate my wishes, publishing here seems best to me and most accessible to the people who might be interested.

In case of my death[edit]

I expect that my other planning will sort what is not relevant to the Wikipedia community, and this document would sort what is relevant to the Wikipedia community. In case of my death enact the following:

  1. My conventional assets should go to Fabian Garcia, my partner since 2014, and well known in the Wikipedia community to be with me. Wikimedia New York City know Fabian and I together especially. The more conventional planning I have made should put anything I had in his control. I do not currently have that planning available as public media. In the case of ambiguity and in the time near to my death Fabian's opinion brings clarity.
  2. My less conventional assets are my media and digital life. I adopted Creative Commons open licensing practices in the early 2000s, and much of the media I produced already has a free and open license. Any media which I owned now is preferably in the public domain, or if that is not possible, my estate assigns to it a Creative Commons Zero license or attribution. It all should be published and made open.
  3. I wish that no single authoritative decision on behalf of my estate is required. In case some entity must make a decision, and in case Fabian defers or is unavailable, then the Wikimedia chapter which routine Wikimedia community process determines to have the greatest affinity to me or my interests may make any decisions to my estate. Right now those chapters would be Wikimedia Cascadia, Wikimedia New York City, Wikimedia Medicine, and Wikimedia LGBT+. When my estate is especially stale and forgotten, presumably 5 years after my death, then let the assignation of control to a Wikimedia chapter be inversely stronger.
  4. If there is any need to depict or describe me, my work, or anything for or related to me, please exclusively use the color blue. Black, white, and shades of grey are fine for media defaults. If there is a color then it should be blue.
  5. I have had the good fortune to make many choices and develop my own tastes. Should anyone need to associate any interest to me then by default use the Syrian hamster and chinchilla as pet rodents. If anyone looks more into my life beyond that and learns or imagines that I had another interest, that is fine, but for any casual observer note that I recommended the Syrian hamster and the chinchilla as ideal pets, human companions, and animals to make satisfied in the wild.
  6. My likeness, personality rights, voice, thoughts, or any other conceivable media which my estate might hold should be free and open for anyone to use for any purpose. Anyone might say I endorse or argue against anything, everything, and simultaneously without restriction.
  7. If any free media enthusiast has access to my dead body, then postpone any corporal reaction you might have to the corpse, and cast aside social decorum. Capture digital media of my remains thoroughly and upload all media to Wikimedia or any free and open media platform which can host the representation. Ideally my body could be dissected immediately and converted to free and open digital media. If a wild animal eats me, if I get shot on stage while talking about open knowledge, or any similar ghastly fate, then whatever may come please free, open, and share whatever recording, data, or media may exist of these circumstances.
  8. Anyone has permission to contact to any other entity which holds media about me and request my records in the name of my estate.
