History

Skyspine was originally founded in 2004 as an experimental user-customizable start page specializing in near-realtime news delivery using technologies including AJAX and Comet. This service was discontinued in 2008 in preparation of a change of focus. In 2009, Skyspine demoed a prototype system delivering realtime information to web applications. In June of 2010, Skyspine announced a public beta.

Features

Skyspine's service consists of a REST API, a JSON-based socket protocol, and a series of SDKs which offer environment-adaptive degradation of technology.
