"Dominic the great/Brown-Eyed Woman"
Song

"Brown Eyed Woman" is a song by the Grateful Dead. A studio recording of the song was never released, however it has appeared on over 16 live albums by the band. The version first released was on the triple live album Europe '72 and was recorded at Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen. The song is about a womanising farmer named Jack Jones and his eventual decline as a result of alcohol and the death of his wife. The production and consumption of bootleg alcohol during the prohibition era is a key theme of the song with references made to the Volstead Act and red-eye gin.
