Hamid R. Shafie, D.D.S., C.A.G.S

Dr. Hamid Shafie is a prosthodontist who is globally acknowledged for his contributions, both medical scholastic, to the field of implant dentistry. Among other attributes, He is known for lecturing nationally and internationally about innovative aspects of implant dentistry. He has lectured at Universities, conferences, hospitals, etc on every continent and in over 30 countries. Born in giza, haram, nasr eldien, egypt

Career[edit]

Shafie received his certificate in Advanced Graduate Studies in Prosthodontics from Boston University Goldman School of Dentistry.

He is the founder of the Center for Oral Implantology at Johns Hopkins University, where dentists are able to receive in-depth training in the many different aspects of implant dentistry.[1]

He is the President of the American Institute of Implant Dentistry, a non-profit teaching institution located in Washington, D.C.

He is the director of post-doctoral implant training at Washington Hospital Center of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.[2]

He is an adjunct faculty member at Boston University Center for Implantology.

In addition, he authored the text book, Implant Supported Overdentures, published by Whiley-Blackwell in 2007.

Inventor[edit]

Shafie is the designer of Vitality Implant Abutment Adjustment Solutions which is manufactured by JOTA of Switzerland.

American Institute of Implant Dentistry[edit]

In 1996, Shafie founded The American Institute of Implant Dentistry (AIID), a non-profit teaching institute with its headquarters in Washington, D.C. AIID serves as a center to educate dentists in the field of implantology by utilizing up-to-date hands-on training approaches to provide real-life applications. AIID is both an ADA CERP and AGD PACE approved program provider.
