Converse Consultants is a national provider of geotechnical engineering, groundwater science, environmental consulting and materials testing services for corporations, nonprofits, and federal, state, and local governments. The firm is headquartered in Monrovia, in the incorporated area of Los Angeles County, California in the Greater Los Angeles Metropolitan Area. As of November 2009 Converse Consultants had 305 employees.

Converse was founded as a sole proprietorship in 1946 in Pasadena, California by California Institute of Technology civil engineering professor Frederick J. Converse and later becoming Converse Foundation Engineers. After several mergers and new partnerships Converse Foundation Engineers in 1985 became The Converse Professional Group (Converse Consultants).

Converse offers full-service capabilities in multiple business units, [3] among four key operating divisions, Geotechnical; Hydrology; Environmental and Inpections. Core business markets served include: Water; Transportation; Operations and Maintenance; Government Facilities and Infrastructure; Retail; Hospitality; Education; Essential Building; Industrial; Land Fills; Mining; Legal; and Parks and Recreation.
Awards and honors[edit]
The firm was named by Fortune magazine as one of the top 100 companies to work for in 2009, marking the company's fourth time on the list. [4] In October 2009, the company's Canadian division, CH2M HILL Canada Ltd., was named one of "Canada's Top 100 Employers" by Mediacorp Canada Inc., and was featured in Maclean's newsmagazine. Later that month, CH2M HILL Canada Ltd. was also named one of Greater Toronto's Top Employers, which was announced by the Toronto Star newspaper.[5]
