It's also a hugely addictive and likeable one" Uncut (p.79) - 3 stars out of 5 -- "^I]t all adds up to a brave endeavour." Alternative Press (p.133) - 4 stars out of 5 -- "Lyricist Pete Wentz breaks out of his usual first-person perspective without sacrificing any insight or honesty, and singer Patrick Stump delivers some of the band's most gut-wrenching and powerful melodies to date." Blessthefall - Colchester 16/11/07 Posted on 17th November 2007 by Gary

Last night; the 16th November; was Blessthefall’s first UK show, ever. Unfortunately I didn’t take notes about the night - So a lot of it is a blur. I’d be greatful if anyone that was there would share their stories of the night, in the comments.

A friend of mine spoke to the band a lot, and managed to get a few pictures & videos. So thanks a lot to him!

The setlist went something like this:

  1. Guys Like You Make Us Look Bad
  2. A Message To The Unknown
  3. Could Tell A Love
  4. Rise Up
  5. Times Like These
  6. I Wouldn’t Quit If Everyone Else Quit
  7. Higinia
  8. His Last Walk

just to clear everything up, the only acoustic version of into oblivion that has to date been released was part of the virgin zoo session. which i have, the africa demo i also have, but its protected so il have to burn it to a disc and then upload it again, but everyone on this board goes on about transcoding and it annoys me, so thats why i havent done this yet, the rise and fall track is the only missing mastered track from tales dont tell themselves. the ban never put it on the album as they didnt think it sounded right. in actual fact the story of the album follows the playing order of.

KilledByAnAngel one night as forever

01. rise and fall. 02. one for the road 03. raise the sail 04. open water 05. out of reach 06. on a wire 07. the diary 08. walk away 09. great wide open 10. sweetest wave 11. into oblivion.

i know this because i met the singer after a show in may and he wrote it down on the back of my cd.

into oblivion demo was a demo recorded as part of the 2nd demo sessions the ban did for the new album. and released a week b4 the actual single came out, it was only digitally released as a package with some bonus material. the out of reach demo featured on the into oblivion vinyl was also recorded as part of the 2nd demo sessions.

the demos crash and burn, africa and a manner of sleep were recorded at the first recording session.

heres my review of the show last night...

set your goals-not really into them so im not going to say anything positive or negative for all those people that like to jump on the offensive when someone states their opinion.

treos-very good. the set was awesome and they had so much energy.

nfg- awesome and exciting. they had alot of energy and jordan even came out onto the floor to sing the promise and dance with everyone. also jordan from set your goals was in the pit the whole set.

senses fail-headlined the whole show last night. very good set. buddy's vocals were even on key tonight. one of their better performances for sure. i thought it was funny when heath nearly knocked himself out on the microphone and then yelled at the stage tech about it.

all in all the show was fun. like i said im not a big set your goals fans so dont kill me for it. jordan from nfg and buddy kept taking shots at each other during each others sets.

yo yo, finally have a chance to talka bout the wonderful NFG/senses fail et al show in NEW ORLEANS saturday night.

SET YOUR GOALS: awesome set, they seem a little green still, pretty new to the live show/touring thing, but their hearts are in the right place and their sound was fantastic. for supposedly being wassted the night before, the drummer was a beast behind the kit, fantastic drumming, solid musicianship and good energy. just need to mature the show a bit. i think its pretty funny that the one singer is 6'4 215 and the other guy is 5'5 120 haha. just looks kinda goofy, but nice guys. i met the tall/deeper voice singer guy after the show. nice dude. set was: dead men tell no tales mutiny! work in progress we do it for the money obviously this very moment (YESSSSS) this song is definitely NOT about a girl goonies never say die echoes to be continued

RECEIVING END OF SIRENS while i just recently got into their first album and have yet to hear the new one, TREOS, or OREOS, or "decending into sadness" as my one friend calls them played a solid set. my only complaint is that this bill isn't very suitable for them. they're just a little...its nto that they lack energy its just...the music is a bit dark/dismal for this type of tour...its like set your goals got me all pumped up for the fast pop punk and then OREOS came out and zapped it right back out of me. they just lack the overall "fun" energy of the other bands, but their emotional energy and stage presence and musicianship was spot on. they played the following the war of all against all smoke and mirrors the evidence new song new song planning a prison break (by far the highlight of the set)

SENSES FAIL I'll admit, i went into this show with a bias against these dudes. i thought their debut e.p. was the most derivitive and immature pice of shit released in 2003. half assed emo core for the masses witha bunch of kids playing the music. well since then, they've grown up 4 years, released 2 albums and most importantly, added Heath formerly of midtown on g-tar. brilliant! i was impressed. buddy's stage presence is perfect, the best frontman out of all 3 bands, but he aint no jordan, sorry, i'm nfg superfan #1. but buddy was good. pretty funny too, said something about wanting to kills omeone then said something about the ookie cookie which is a game where you jack off on a cookie and the guy last to cum has to eat it and jordan is always last. gross and funny. then something about wanting to kidnap a rich kid and sell him for half a million bucks. haha! i thought it was funny. i have no idea what their songs were but i'll make some guesses. their musicianship is so much tigher now than when I saw them open for alk3 about 4 years ago, only bummer was that buddy's singing voice is pretty shitty. he can scream a ok, but his singing leaves a bit to be desired. hell, blame it on the monitors. closed with 187 played bloody romance calling all cars...ya know, the song about scattering the ashes some song about drinking up drinking up or something like that more songs

NFG. ahhhhh yes. my 9th nfg show in 7 years, nearly to the day when I saw them open for fenixTX back in october 2000. lovely set, insane energy, flawless execution..ya know, the shit you expect from an NFG show. if you've never seen NFG or you left this tour before they came on, please stop reading this and stick your head in the toilet for me adn flush. i would assist with the accompanying wedgie, but i'm busy typing, so have your mom or dad do that for you since you cleary are too young and stupid to live on your own.

set was as previously posted, althogh i don't recall hearing 'dressed to kill' but they played failures not flattering instead. i did 3 shots of tequila before the set so i may be wrong. in no order: hit or miss understatement something i call personality oxygen hold my hand head on collision king of wishful thinking iris it aint me babe BALLAD FOR THE LOST ROMANTICS (i had never heard them do this before, not in 8 shows dating back to the s/t tdays. sooooo stoked to hear it. i've heard every song off of the s/t now except 'black and blue') forget my name failures not flattering all downhill from here my friends over you intro kiss me

my only complaints are that it was only an hour set vs. their standard hour and a half, but i guess when senses fail gets a full hour and 2 other opening bands, the time gets cut a bit. oh well. still 3 hours of music for your buck. second complaint is closing with Kiss Me. opening with hit or miss=awesome. closing with brand new cover song when you have 5 full length albums=dumb. i think they should play some songs from the new covers album, but 4 was a bit of an overkill and closing with kiss me a bit of a slap in the face to the old skool fans such as myself. also, nothing off of nothing gold can stay, yet 4 covers is lame. but the strength of the performance, the energy, etc. made up for it. and the album songs they did play all obviously kill live. also, the 'coming home' material is soooooooo much better live, i've now heard oxygen, hold my hand, on my mind and its not your fault and all 4 of them sound like nFG live. tom panzanuzio or whoever produced "coming home" fucked up their trademark sound.

after the show talked to jordan and ian about some random crap, jordan is seperated from his wife of 2 years/girlfriend of 10 years I think so thats sad for him. he should listen to vegas! badump ching! ian is doing well and weighs 209 lbs if you're itnerested. i found that out when i mistakenly thought he lot weight. turns out i'm just fatter. he was super nice and considered smoking a J with me back at my hotel room but didn't want to go alone with me and my fiancee. jordan apparantly quit the weed a few years ago. took some nice pics with ian and he was super cool. i thanked him very much for playing "ballad".

until next time, enjoy the shows. this tour is certainly worth catching.

23 songs and no Tell That Mick? fuck that. 23 songs is insane though!

TTTYG: Grand Theft Autumn Homesick Saturday

FUCT: Sugar We're Goin' Down Our Lawyer Made Us Change The Name Of This Song... Gin Joints I Slept With Someone in Fall Out Boy... A Little Less Sixteen Candles... Nobody Puts Baby In The Corner XO Dance, Dance

IOH: Hum Hallelujah The Carpal Tunnel of Love Don't You Know Who I Think I Am? I'm Like A Lawyer...(Me & You) Golden Thriller The Take Over, The Break's Over This Ain't A Scene, It's An Arms Race Thnks Fr Th Mmrs The (After) Life Of The Party

OTHER: One and Only Mr. Brightside (The Killers Cover)

Pretty crazy. I think they should let me write the setlists though haha ....what am I even talking about..this tour isnt even coming here haha.

Do people feel that they need a better setlist though? Maybe something like this:

Our Lawyers Thriller Gin Joints Calm Before the Storm Dead on Arrival The Carpel Tunnel of Love The (After) Life of the Party Patron Saint of Liars and Fakes Nobody Puts Baby in the Corner Honorable Mention The Take Over The Breaks Over Hum Hallelujah A Little Less Sixteen Candles Chicago is So Two Years Ago Grand Theft Autumn Dance, Dance I'm Like a Lawyer This Ain't a Scene Sugar

Encore:

that is
