Designing modular steel buildings

Pembs Steel Buildings is a company based near Cardiff, Wales that design, supplying and erect bespoke steel buildings to individual customer requirements. Engineering experience and knowledge built up from lessons learnt from previous builds enable therequirements elicitation phase for clarifying that the design best suit customer needs is typically short and concise. Interim designs can be created, discussed and then redrawn until the customer and designer feel confident that the design is optimised to suit the customer needs.

The designs are produced using specially made software which can also calculate and specify the materials required. The parameters entered into the program software also include geographical considerations such as wind speeds in the local area and elevation above sea level. This information is factored into the building design, factoring into the design the weather conditions and wind forces that the building will have to withstand.

The design specifications can also be used to produce the Bill Of Materials. The steel materials are pre-cut into sheets to suit the design, enabling quick and efficient builds with minimum materials waste.
