Star Trek: Equinox (aka: Star Trek Equinox: The Night of Time) is a crowd-funded television film project currently under production. Written by Camren T. Burton and directed by David Winning, the project is slated for presentation to CBS in 2015[1] as a pilot for a proposed new series.[2]
Production[edit]
Production and casting began in 2013. Filming began in the middle of 2014, in CBS studios in Jacksonville, Georgia.[2][3] Actor John Savage stated that Matt Striker was "handpicked" for the part of a Romulan Commander based upon his reading at his audition and his because of his work in the WWE.[4] In April 2014, it was announced that Stan Lee had agreed to join the feature film itself in a principle role.[3] In May 2014, it was announced that Spanish fashion model Alejandro Corzo had agreed to join the project in the role of Federation Officer Xent,[5] [6] the husband of Vulcan officer Lt. Cmdr. T’Lexa.[2]
Synopsis[edit]
Star Date 2393: Fifteen years after the destruction of the USS Equinox, Captain Rudy Ransom (John Savage), who was beamed from his doomed ship by the Krotownans, is being held prisoner by them in the Delta Quadrant for purported crimes against their race, including trespassing in their territorial space and the deaths of Krowtown crew members. Ransom has very few choices but one chance to return across 30,000 light years to the Alpha Quadrant.
