stubs

[edit]

I'm sorry to bother you again, but I've noticed that you have put {{stub}} on a few category pages. {{stub}} does not belong there either. Stub tags only go on articles. They do not go on redirect pages, disambiguation pages, or category pages. I would suggest using {{Listdev}} for disambiguation pages and category pages if you think it needs it. You can read Wikipedia: Stubs for more specific information. Please respond on my talk page if you have any more questions. Amalas 13:53, 14 April 2006 (UTC)

Thanks much, I didn't actually know about listdev. MOD 19:20, 14 April 2006 (UTC)

Through from Thru

[edit]

I'm certain your edit on the Appalachian Trail page was made with the best of intentions, but in the AT community we use the spelling "thru", not "through", when writing about thru-hikes, thru-hiking, and thru-hikers. Please revert your edit. TJ aka Teej

q strange article for deletion

[edit]

Lol. You made the same mistake as me on that AFD for the list of gang songs-- you need to go through the process, or else no admin will ever see the vote and delete it.--Urthogie 08:08, 20 April 2006 (UTC)

afd's

[edit]

1.put new talk page messages at the bottom. better yet, just click the big plus button. 2.my reasons were completely fine, and made sense. see the edit summary. --Urthogie 18:49, 20 April 2006 (UTC)

new category you might enjoy

[edit]

Category:Hip hop production. Any time you see a hip hop production article, go ahead and put it in this cat. (a lot of stuff hip hop production related is in Category:DJing, but should be in both)--Urthogie 19:33, 20 April 2006 (UTC)

A mistaken copyedit

[edit]

Your edit to CPU here broke the reference link. I can only assume you mistakenly changed the text not realizing it was part of a URL reference. Please be careful! -- uberpenguin @ 2006-04-27 01:11Z

Very sorry for the confusion. MOD 01:12, 27 April 2006 (UTC)

spellcheck bot

[edit]

hi there! i've been spell check'n as JoeBot for quite a while using martin's AWB. still, i've been looking and asking about other bot's software, as mine is limited to mostly single instance misspellings. how does your tool work? JoeSmack Talk 05:15, 27 April 2006 (UTC)

Apologies

[edit]

I'm sorry for coming over a bit brusque, I had not meant to seem insulting. - FrancisTyers 12:55, 27 April 2006 (UTC)

No harm done, we're all mature enough to take what we dish out and vice versa. MOD 19:32, 27 April 2006 (UTC)

"Copyedit"

[edit]

Hi, copyediting is nice, but 'criticise' is standard British English. Sorry to criticise. :) HenryFlower 21:52, 27 April 2006 (UTC)

Do you propose I stop? MOD 21:52, 27 April 2006 (UTC)

Either that or we can continue to chase each other over a few hundred pages. HenryFlower 21:55, 27 April 2006 (UTC)

  • Gasp* A terrifying thought. I've ceased this vile process, have a good day! MOD 21:59, 27 April 2006 (UTC)

Copyedit on Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

[edit]

Thanks for the correction to the misspelling; however, in this case the misspelling is in the filename not the article - so correcting just makes the image appear as a red link - please don't correct it again. Thx in Adv Trödel 21:58, 27 April 2006 (UTC)

This page will be the end of me! I've already uploaded the properly-named file, so I'm not sure why people keep reverting to an improperly-named file. MOD 22:01, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
Sorry to correct you so quickly - it shows up as a red-link because of some caching issues - so when it changed - I thought it was to the incorrect spelled one - note that you can use "_" in place of " " (spaces) but only within wikilinks that are either images (where the words of the link do not appear in the article, or in a piped wikilink (source: [[Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style_(links)#Form|piped wikilink]] ) otherwise the underscores will appear in the text. Trödel 22:10, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
No sweat. Take it easy! MOD 22:12, 27 April 2006 (UTC)

criticised/criticized

[edit]

Hi. I noticed you changed criticised to criticized in ETA recently. I just wanted to point out that criticised (with an S) is correct under British (and thus international) standards; spelling it with a Z is an Americanism. Generally anything spelled with -ize in US spelling is -ise in UK/intl spelling and either one is correct. Not a big deal but I thought I'd point it out. – Andyluciano 06:45, 29 April 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for your concern and your time, but I've already stopped correcting it, as per above: "I've ceased this vile process, have a good day!" MOD 14:36, 29 April 2006 (UTC)

Automated copyedit...

[edit]

...is bad. I just reverted two of your copyedits, which you obviously made without looking. English Wikipedia articles often contain foreign words that you mistook for misspellings. Be careful, or stop.

Actually, having spelling mistakes in our articles might even be a good thing: It may entice some of the readers to correct the spelling and stay with us. Cheers! — AdiJapan  18:49, 29 April 2006 (UTC)

Sorry, won't happen again. And spelling mistakes aren't good any way you cut it. This is an encyclopedia supposedly, not a spelling correction experiment. MOD 19:25, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
