I grew up near New York City, and received a degree from Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, where I studied painting among other things. I founded an artist's cooperative in Brooklyn, NY in 2004 with an exchange program for artists and curators to share and barter skills, materials and labor. I continue to advocate for education and accessibility for the arts, specifically in regards to open source platforms.[1]
My Wikipedia Work[edit]
I have been a editor of Wikipedia since February, 2014. I began working on Wikipedia earlier this year when I hosted one of the satellite edit-thons for Wikipedia:Meetup/ArtAndFeminism in New York and was joined by longtime Wikipedia Jim Henderson,User:Jim.henderson, for this first event.[2] In all my edits on Wikipedia I have striven to abide by Wikipedia's accepted practices on conflicts of interest, neutrality, and notability. I have familiarized myself with the conflict of interest guidelines on Wikipedia through personal research and through conversations with Wikipedians at multiple edit-a-thons, including Wikipedian in Residence at the Metropolitan New York Library Council, Dorothy Howard, User:OR drohowa.
