Muhammad Mijanur Rahaman[1] (born 25 November 1985) is a Bangladeshi author, literary editor and columnist. He is a famous personality of Pirojpur district.[2]


Early life and education[edit]

Mijanur Rahaman was born in Pirojpur in 1985 to Muhammad Muzibur Rahaman and Jamila Khatun. He was the student of Khanakuniary primary school. He passed SSC exam from Khanakuniary P. E. R Fazil Madrasha in 2000 and HSC exam from the same institution in 2002. He graduated from Dhaka University (DU). He also gained Master of Philosophy digree on Literature from Dhaka University (DU) in 2019.[3]

Career[edit]

Mijanur`s inspiration in writing started during his student life in 2007. After his graduation, he joined to serve as a government employee. He started working as a professonal writer after joining the job. Primarily he began to write on education in national daily Prothom Alo,[4] The Daily Ittefaq[5] and Daily Naya Diganta.[6]

After few months, he started to write various articles and stories on the Bengali daily news paper. As a part of literature his first story pulished in Kochikachar Ashor on The Daily Ittefaq. Then, he was contuning on the Bengali daily news paper and online portal in essays, stories and novels.

Now, he is one of the famous writers on essay in Bangladesh. He writes on Daily Naya Diganta, Jugantor,[7] The Daily Ittefaq, Amar Sangbad, Dhaka Times, Amader Shomoy,[8] Parstoday[9] etc. He also writes Bangladesh Islamic Foundation’s monthly magazine `Agrapathik’ and `Shishu’ patrika that published by Bangladesh Shishu Academy.

Personal life[edit]

Mijanur is married to Rahima Khanam. They have three daughters, Afia Ayman, Afia Anjum and Afia Jahin.
