Jamnagar has the country's only ayurvedic university offering post graduate and diploma courses in Ayurvedic medicines and pharmaceutical science, yoga and naturopathy

Also there is one government medical and dental college

There are around 1316 primary schools, 156 secondary schools and 45 higher secondary schools in Jamnagar

The city also has one engineering college, one polytechnic college and two management colleges.

The fisheries aquatic science research station at sikka conducts research in pearl culture.
