A few notes (that is, three) about my editing habits:

  • I generally eschew reverting vandalism and concern myself instead with fixing articles that users have unwittingly made misinformative or biased
  • I focus mainly on watching and protecting obscure pages where I believe there's a significant chance that errors and NPOV violations might go unnoticed, and ignore those where a large safety net of other users is present to catch them
  • The vitriol that occasionally crops up in my posts on talk pages is a throwback to my time on websites with laxer civility standards (read: ubiquitous flaming) and should not be taken personally

My opinions about stuff:

  • I am a republican (in the truest sense) on Wikipedia as well as in real life (which should not be construed as a tacit endorsement-- or, for that matter, denouncement-- of the current Wikipedia power structure). Disputes should be solved by consensus, which is to say mob rule by the narrow demographic of dedicated Wikipedia geeks that mobilize effectively for votes, as seldom as possible, although I am warier still of rule by fiat, particularly by anyone named "Jimbo".
  • I consider lists valuable, generally moreso than categories
  • I am a strong proponent of linking only to pages with content material to the issue at hand. See how pointless and distracting that is?
  • I advocate including definitions on all disambiguation pages, Wiktionary be damned. Otherwise we're effectively giving e.g. some obscure indie band from Oregon precedence over the primary definition of a word.
  • I wish this account carried over to Wikipedia spinoffs as well
