426th Civil Affairs Battalion (Airborne)(Tactical) is a United States Army Reserve Civil Affairs (CA) Battalion. It is based at Upland, California. The unit includes Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta and Headquarters and Headquarters Companies, all located in Upland. The unit on Airborne status, and is one of the few Airborne units in the Army Reserves. The battalion has been involved in almost every conflict or major operation since 9-11.

A gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Per pale point in point indented Purpure and Argent, a torch Or enflamed Gules. Attached below the shield a tripartite Purple scroll doubled and inscribed "EXCEEDING THE STANDARD" in gold.

Purple and white are the colors traditionally associated with Civil Affairs. Gold reflects excellence and high ideals; red is indicative of courage, vitality and zeal. The torch signifies guidance, leadership, and knowledge while underscoring the unit's motto, "EXCEEDING THE STANDARD."

A bottle green shield-shaped embroidered item with a semi-circular base 2 1/4 inches (5.72 cm) in height and 1 7/8 inches (4.76 cm) in width bearing three 3/8 inch (.96 cm) diagonal bands, purple, khaki, and red from upper left to lower right. All edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) golden yellow border. The beret flash was approved on 23 February 2007.

A bottle green oval shaped-embroidered item 1 3/8 inches (3.49 cm) in height and 2 1/4 inches (5.72 cm) in width with three 1/8 inch (.32 cm) horizontal bands, red, khaki, and purple from left to right surmounted by a yellow diagonal lightning bolt from upper left to lower right. All edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) golden yellow border. The background trimming was approved on 23 February 2007.
