Worldismarble is another one of the many avid Wikipedia users.

Hello all! Among my many intersts include: tap dance, Fred Astaire, Hermes Pan, guzheng, entomology, forestry, reading biographies of many historical greats ie Enrico Fermi, The Nicholas Brothers, etc. I usually find myself fascinated with things that I may not understand.

My alleged life story:

Once upon a time, there was a swarm of rabbits who found themselves in the midst of an unstoppable phenomenon: mammalian copulation. Because such a degree of reproduction was unheard of, the rabbits were forced to trim the size of their population and plummetted into the ocean, subsequently ending their unfortunate lives. This is only a hook and has nothing with Worldismarble's origination, but it does have something to do with large bodies of marine water.

Millions of years ago, when the earth was an unidentified blob of existence, many foraminiferas floated about the surface of the young planet. Their intricate society was a complicated one of birth and death. While the suicidal bunnies charged into the water at that very nonsensical point in time, the foraminifera felt a sudden urge to do the same. So they, too, died.

Years, months, hours, centuries, days, millenniums, nanoseconds, light years, stop watches, combs, beards, and minutes passed. The skeletons of the foraminiferas floated to the depths of the ocean's dark and unknown abyss. As water pressure compressed the foraminiferas, their corpses turned into chalk. More time passed and the chalk turned into limestone. Even more time passed, and the limestone compressed into marble.

Although foraminiferas live in purely marine environments, they are a global inhabitor of this great planet. This is how the world is indeed a marble. Thank you.
