Hi. I noticed your username. Please note that while having a username written in Hebrew is allowed, it's not best practice on the english-language wiki. You might want to consider picking a different username, or at least setting up a signature which uses the latin alphabet. Please see WP:NONLATIN. Thanks, and welcome to wikipedia. -- RoySmith (talk) 01:50, 20 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your remark RoySmith, I'm an old timer writer and editor in the Hebrew Wikipedia (very few times i did some corections or minor editions in the English Wikipedia), and for the first time I wrote an new article in English. The article is about the singer "Oshri" and its located in my sandbox User:מיקרוז/sandbox. Can you please guide me how I can remove the article from my sandbox to the Encyclopdia? Thanx in advance מיקרוז (talk) 02:19, 20 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
You probably want to start with WP:YFA, and WP:TEA for support questions. -- RoySmith (talk) 02:39, 20 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

September 2018[edit]

Information icon Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. This is just a note to let you know that I've moved the draft that you were working on to Draft:Oshri Elmorich, from its old location at User:מיקרוז/sandbox. This has been done because the Draft namespace is the preferred location for Articles for Creation submissions. Please feel free to continue to work on it there. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to ask me on my talk page. Thank you. — Frayæ (Talk/Spjall) 08:59, 20 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Your submission at Articles for creation: Oshri has been accepted[edit]

It says :"Your submission at Articles for creation: Oshri has been accepted" But for some reason it not publish in the Wikipedia. (as you can see it's in red: Oshri and It's can not find as a Draft either Draft:Oshri. Can anyone here Explane me what ahppened and What I can do regarding for that? מיקרוז (talk) 21:16, 2 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I originally accepted the draft in good faith. Later the page was deleted for copyright concerns and your account was indefinitely blocked. The notification and reasoning of the block can be seen clearly below. — Frayæ (Talk/Spjall) 21:24, 2 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Frayae, I have permission from the photografer to use the picture but i don't know yet how to proof it. If there is a problem with the picture you (or I) can erase it and I will study first how to show you my permission. In the rest of the Article I do not see any problem of copyright violations, I got all my information from the Web and gave references for all of it. If I only got information in what detales in the article there is any violation of copyrights I could fix it but now I can not do it since the draft was erased. If one here can just upload again the artcle to Draft:Oshri I would erase the picture until I will study how to proof my permission. Also the picture is not a nessesary for the Artcle, the qustion here should be if Oshry the singer is proper or worth for an article in Wikipedia, isnt it. Such an argument was not raised מיקרוז (talk) 21:39, 2 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
This appears to be undisclosed paid editing and thus your block. You mention you are an experienced editor. What are your other accounts? Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 23:11, 2 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Doc James, In the last ten years (from 2008) I created more then ten new articles (in History and philosophy) and few hundreds corrections, glosses and editings in the Hebrew Wikipedia (from this account, I don't have a nother one...), I do not understand what do you mean "paid editing", I did not contribute money to Wikipedia, but I did contribute from my time and knowledge to the Wikipedia project as much as I could. I made a mistake with uploading a picture without understanding enough the rouls of the copyrights in Wikipedia. "Oshry" was my first attemp to write an article in english and my first time I tried to upload a picture in Wikipedia. if my draft Draft:Oshri will be upload to the draft again and My blockage will be removed I could fix my mistake and erase the picture. Thank you. מיקרוז (talk) 00:28, 3 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Now I see..., if you Implying thet the article is kind of a "commercial article" I was paid for, let me assure you and declare it's not so. I red an article about a saccessful American singer of an Israeli origin. I looked in Wikipedia and saw there was no article about him, so I took a chalange trying to write an article in English Wikipedia. In no way I dot not know the guy prsonally or any of the companys he works with. The issue here is only if the person Oshri the subject of the article is proper and worth an article in Wikipedia acording Wikipedia's standards, It will be great disappointment for me if my first article in the English Wikipedia will be rejected for the wrong reasons. Thank you for your attention. מיקרוז (talk) 00:47, 3 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Plus undisclosed paid editing... And probable sockpuppetry.
Happy to provide evidence to other admins. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 23:41, 28 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Doc James, As a long timer Wikiped, I created the article in absolute positive intentions, No undisclosed Considerations were taken What so ever. Therefore any kind of "evidences" must be wrong assumptions. מיקרוז (talk) 20:53, 3 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Doc James, your decision to block this user seems to be a mistake. This user is active for more than 10 years in Hebrew Wikipedia, and surely is not a sockpuppet. As he is an experienced Wikipedian, so I am sure that he knows the rules of copyright policy, and didn't violate them. Can you explain your decision or revert it? I myself uploaded this picture from the site to my computer and from my computer to a Wikipedia's photo page! I did not copmleat the prosedur of prooving the permition I got from the photographer to use this picture. It was a mistake - I should not do so, but as I wrote you above (in 2 Ocktober): the picture is not necessary for the article and I was ready to remove it until I complit the prosedur or remove it for good from the article. I apoplogize again for the mistake, I wrote you above (in 2 Ocktober) that it was my first time I upload a picture to Wikipedia. The only time I remember in the last ten years I used a picture in an article i wrote was simply use a picture thaht was allready uploaded to Wilipedia commons and have been used in an English Article. מיקרוז (talk) 02:10, 13 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
מיקרוז is contributing to hewiki since 2008, so I don't think he is paid editor nor sock-puppet. He also never had issues with suspected copyvios (text content), though he isn't experienced with media files (according to logs, he have never uploaded file neither to commons nor to hewiki before). I believe it is safe to unblock him assuming good faith.
However, מיקרוז please note that copyvio is very serious issue, and may result in permanent block. The rules for files (simple version): If you took the picture yourself - it is OK to upload it with free license, if someone else took the picture (and gave you permission) - go for the procedure in c:Commons:OTRS (or Hebrew version: he:ויקיפדיה:OTRS) - the contributer must be the owner of the copyright and must be agree/aware to the license he/she is willing to contribute the file. There are some more complex rules for pictures of arts and buildings or old photos - if you aren't sure, please ask before upload. Eran (talk) 15:23, 13 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Eran have sent you the evidence.
Also מיקרוז you said you had permission to use the image. Can you please forward that permission to OTRS? Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 02:00, 15 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Doc James What's the use? I care no more for this accursed article. all I care now is cleaning my name and removing my blockage. if so and if the article will upload to Wikipedia (without the picture) I'll contact her again to complete the release of the photo (or another one). מיקרוז (talk) 21:09, 15 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Commenting here because Doc James asked me to look at this. מיקרוז, I do have two questions for you before I say anything else: did you write all of the prose in the Oshri article on your own? Also, is it original prose you wrote for the English Wikipedia, or is it a translation of an article on another Wikimedia project? Thanks. TonyBallioni (talk) 21:20, 14 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Here are my answers one by one: 1. I wrote the prose by my own based opun the references I attached to the article, 2. I used few sources and just Wikipedized it all together, My main source was Oshri's site 3. Naturally I wrote it exlusivelly as an article for Wikipedia, Pop music is not my field so I have no reason to write texts in this field for other purposes, My fields are Philosophy, History and Classical music. 4. As far as I remember (Well... the text was erased so it's not in front of me) regarding the boy band, I might used a self knowledge minor detail. 5. Non of the prose was a translation, all of my sources were in English. מיקרוז (talk) 19:41, 15 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. Could you provide a link of the his website that you claim you learned the information from. It wasn't listed in the sources. TonyBallioni (talk) 19:45, 15 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
It defintely was, even twice: one as an external link and also as the artis't site detail in the "box" (last detail). מיקרוז (talk) 19:56, 15 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
You are correct. I am sorry. I was looking at the preview of the last revision and not the last revision you edited. My apologies. Okay, so the problem is here that you did directly copy and paste content from the artist's website into Wikipedia: that is a copyright violation. That does, however, alleviate the concerns I had about paid editing. Doc James, I think if מיקרוז can promise to always write everything in his own words going forward, it'd be fine to unblock. There were copyright issues, but those also explain why it looks like UPE. TonyBallioni (talk) 20:08, 15 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I learned a big lesson here, I never going to touch again a field I am not very familier with. Regarding the photo, see above what I just wrote to Doc James מיקרוז (talk) 21:11, 15 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I've looked at this again. Can you explain why your article contained substantially similar content to a deleted version of the page (admin only) when the content that was used at that time had not been previously published on the internet? Could you also explain how you received the photographer's permission above? The thing is, this looks like an advertisement and while I do want to believe you, there are a lot of unanswered questions and after reappraising the situation after looking at the deleted content, I personally don't feel comfortable unblocking you. . TonyBallioni (talk) 06:05, 16 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The ref you now claim to have based this on is here http://www.oshrimusic.com/epk/ No it was NOT used in the article in question as of your last edit[1]. You just used a link to their website http://www.oshrimusic.com/

Basically it looks like once you were "caught" you asked the PR firm / Oshri to add the text they provided you to their website. Additionally the text here was partly copy and pasted from that and yet you used different references (which was not the actual source you used).

Per the "I wrote the prose by my own based opun the references I attached to the article". That is false. As such you should remain blocked based on the copyright issues alone.

With respect to further details we know that there is currently money out for the creation of this article. That the company in question was struggling to get the article up and thus needed a more experience Wikipedian. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 05:12, 16 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Okay confirmed that the reference you claim to have used to support the text in this article did NOT exist at the time you wrote this article... User:דוד שי what you decide to do on HE Wikipedia is your call. What is beyond a doubt is that this user is involved in undisclosed paid editing and is working closely with the PR firm for the artist in question. They have been involved in copyright infringement in that they are claiming the work of others as their own. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 06:45, 16 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
