There is currently an ongoing dispute over the composition of the lede, such as the clumsiness of the opening paragraph. I think that one sentence is pure fluff, following the intro statement,
In a career spanning eighty years, she played various roles across film, stage, and television. Although based for much of her life in the United States, her work attracted international attention.
I've proposed a reword, In a career spanning eight decades, predominantly based in the United States, she played various roles across film, stage, and television. Condenses the two. However, I'm not tied to it either, just tried to offer an option, since it's been in a stalemate!

Seems there's a deadlock between remove the bolded-italicized part altogether, or rephrase to either my version or another variation. So since you contributed that last edit, I was going to revert it just in case it caused a ruckus. But instead, I figured, leave it since it didn't affect the sentence.

But would you mind coming to weigh in your opinion, whatever it may be. Your perspective can only be beneficial, as the more voices that participate, the better, since it's been far too stagnant and we've gotten nowhere fast. Thanks in advance. Somone using this IP address is doing a lot of damage to Wikipedia by adding lengthy unsourced, sometimes personal, sometimes incomprehensible text to several articles. This must stop now or administrators will have to get involved to block the IP. SergeWoodzing (talk) 14:34, 12 March 2024 (UTC)
