Flags at 1963 Football League Cup Final[edit]

Hello. The Manual of Style on the English Wikipedia says that we shouldn't use flags for sportspeople except in context of them actually representing their country. The players and managers in a domestic cup competition aren't representing their country, so shouldn't have flags next to their names. Before you tell me that most articles do have flags, that may be true, but that doesn't mean they should. Please see MOS:FLAG#Appropriate use, where it says Flag icons may be relevant in some subject areas, where the subject actually represents that country or nationality – such as military units or national sports teams. Additionally, when flag use is appropriate, which it isn't here, the name of the country should also be shown, at least the first time the flag is used: see MOS:FLAG#Accompany flags with country names. Flags of players in League Cup Finals[edit]

Hello! I see that many league cup finals have player's flag to represent which country the player is from. When I place flags alongside players it is to denote which country they did represent. For League Cup from 1969 and onwards you have flags for players and coaches. Also for FA Cup Finals you have flags for players and managers in that year. In the English cups there are players with varying nationalities mostly British or Irish but in later players players have arrived from Africa, Europe, Asia and elsewhere.
