semi-welcome[edit]

Well, make that a semi-welcome. Given interest in New Rochelle area topics, and clear experience in wikipedia writing, it seems possible this new account is another account started by a person who has been associated, fairly or unfairly, into the Jvolkblum sock-puppet case. Although it was only Jvolkblum who was banned, enforcement has extended to other accounts. Offhand, I personally think it is embarrassing and awful that checkusers and others have been unwilling and uninterested in attempting to sort out if multiple persons have been caught up in this.

I do note that your edits that i have reviewed seem all very constructive, well-sourced, justified, perfectly suitable for wikipedia. And, to anyone else watching, there is no evidence of wp:sockpuppet behavior in this account, meaning no arguing, no posing as a secondary account to inflate appearance of wider support for one position in a controversy, etc. So, if persons watching would just let this go, would let this account with no bad history, go on to edit in a wholly constructive manner, then possibly the big mess could be left behind.

If anyone wants to block this account, I would ask that they identify and state their reasons carefully and civilly. In particular, I would hope you would please develop and state evidence that this account is the same as the Jvolkblum account, not just any other NR area user who has already been caught up in the mess. I notice that administrator User:Wknight94 has blocked this account, deleted articles created by Acepharma, and has reverted various edits by Acepharma. I don't notice any particular extended explanation by W anywhere, although the connection to previous accounts caught up in the Jvolkblum mess is pretty obvious to me, too. Upon noticing one of those Wknight94 edits, i browsed the recent contributions by Acepharma which included several quite well-done-looking articles about NRHP sites, before W deleted them all. These included somewhat-difficult-to-construct links to the NRHP documents for these sites and development based on those sources. Clearly would have been a good contribution to wikipedia, but apparently in violation of ban, and deleted. doncram (talk) 20:20, 21 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello and thank you for welcoming me to the site. Thanks as well for the update about problems relative to New Rochelle topics. I am somewhat aware of whats goin on as I have seen some discussions on a few local sites (the Loop (getinloop.com), newrochelleny.com and Talkofthesound). I just tried the www.newrochelleny.com website and the Talkofthesound one and see no mention of Jvolkblum and/or wikipedia. Could you please proved specific URLs to past discussions on those and the other one? Vague suggestions are less helpful. doncram (talk) 23:32, 18 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I assume that you are only trying to help and I commend you for that. You can see an example on TheLoop (getinloop.com) site which serves Larchmont, Mamaroneck and New Rochelle. The link to one wikipedia related'rant' is getinloop.com//index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=608&Itemid=162, and that developed into a followup posting on the Loop site & a dialogue - the link is: getinloop.com//index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=625&Itemid=162. You cannot see the conversations I mentioned that are on newrochelleny.com because only registered members can access the specific portal.
