Welcome to Wikipedia!!![edit]

Hello Adlitinc! Welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. If you decide that you need help, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Please remember to sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. You may also push the signature button located above the edit window. Finally, please do your best to always fill in the edit summary field. This is considered an important guideline in Wikipedia. Even a short summary is better than no summary. Below are some recommended guidelines to facilitate your involvement. Happy editing! -- MECUtalk 02:02, 15 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest[edit]

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Royalbroil 19:49, 17 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You should be not be adding external links to websites that you are affliated with. If other contributors find that it meets the external links guideline then they will add it. It fails several points in WP:EL#Links normally to be avoided: 4. Links mainly intended to promote a website. 5.Links to sites that primarily exist to sell products or services. 14. Sites that are only indirectly related to the article's subject. I find the link objectionable and I have removed it. You can discuss the link on the article's talk page, and it would be able to be readded if you gain consensus. Royalbroil 19:49, 17 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Username[edit]

Your username is the name of your company. This is against the Username policy. You are using this account to promote your company. This account should be permanently blocked. I am instead giving you a final warning to stop using this account immediately. You need to come up with an account name that is different from your company name if you want to edit in the future. You also should not add the external link to dells.com with any future new account. I am watching the Wisconsin Dells article because I know that it is a great target for spammers with the city's high amount of tourism. Royalbroil 20:00, 17 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I will look at the username issue. thanks for the info on that, I was not quite aware.

I have no intention of spamming wikipedia. Dells.com has been a great resource of information since it started in 1995. Dells.com currently provides more as well as verified information than the official CVB website. The city of Wisconsin Dells has their information on a subsection of dells.com as well the river district.--Adlitinc (talk) 20:31, 17 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You need to go through the Wikipedia:Changing username process immediately. Do not do any more edits besides on your userpage or talk page before getting your username changed. I am not interested in being a jerk, but you have already been given leeway. Policy is written in stone, so this must end now. Any other edits will have to result in this account being blocked for violating policy. I am looking forward to working with you on Wisconsin articles, so please do the username change. I created at post at WikiProject Wisconsin asking knowledgable Wisconsin Wikipedians to review your proposal on adding the external link to dells.com. I have noted that you have a conflict of interest on the website. Royalbroil 00:52, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for changing your username. I look forward to working with you at WikiProject Wisconsin! Royalbroil 19:07, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
