A quick note on lists[edit]

Hi Andersonmatt125. Having looked at your draft page, I thought you might be able to use a quick bit of advice on formatting.

To create a numerical list on Wikipedia, use the hash symbol. Writing this:

# First point # Second point ## Subpoint of second point ### Sub-subpoint ### Second sub-subpoint # Third point

will render in the text as this:

First point
Second point
1. Subpoint of second point
  1. Sub-subpoint
  2. Second sub-subpoint
Third point

If you want to create a bulleted list, use asterisks instead of hash marks:

* One * Two * Three

appears as:

One
Two
Three

Yeah, Wikipedia formatting can be a pain in the cojones until you get used to it (which you will - I now write most of my emails and letters in wikimarkup, and then get very frustrated when my email client and word processor don't know what I'm on about). You might find the cheatsheet helpful; it gives you a quick and easy list of the most common formatting effects on Wikipedia and how to achieve them. Yunshui 雲‍水 09:27, 18 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Andersonmatt1125. Good work on your draft; it's starting to come together nicely. I thought you might be interested to know of a useful tool for reformatting your references (bare URLs are not terribly popular). Once you've place all the references in the draft, you can go to the Reflinks utility, type in the full page title (User:Andersonmatt1125/Spastic Quadriplegia Outline) and set it running; Reflinks will then automatically format all of your references, merge any duplicates and edit the article to set them in the correct places. It's a handy, one-click (well, about three clicks, technically) way to convert naked URLs into properly formatted citations, without having to type them all up by hand. Hope that's useful.
