The article Colin Evans has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:BLP that doesn't meet general notability guidelines.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Hi, and welcome to Wikipedia! The article looks ok, my concern is the subject. First of all, is it you? If so, you should be aware that Wikipedia strongly discourages autobiographies. If you are related or associated to this person, you may have a conflict of interest and should avoid writing or editing articles about him. Next, he doesn't appear to meet the general notability guidelines. Wikipedians have agreed upon a set of guidelines for what things/people/places/events should be included as articles in this encyclopedia. If you believe Mr. Evans meets these guidelines, please update the article and include verifiable sources. Thanks, and again, welcome! --SquidSK (1MClog) 01:41, 4 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Colin Evans requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. --SquidSK (1MClog) 01:44, 4 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry to hit you with another warning, but be advised that most of the text from this article appears to be copied from the biography PDF you included in the first sentence. This is most likely a copyright violation and exposes Wikipedia to legal problems. To avoid deletion of the article, place this tag {{hangon}} at the top of the article, then rewrite it in your own words. --SquidSK (1MClog) 01:47, 4 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,

No, this is not me. Actually, was quite please I had found someone who I think is notable that should be on wikipedia I guess. I added a link to his Central African Republic Biography plus there is a picture of him here with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Vanuatu. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/0c/Edward_Natapei_CENTER_presenting_a_ceremonial_flag_to_foreign_diplomats.jpg if that helps in an way.

Which parts do yo think I should change? I thought I had changed everyting sufficient? Would appreciate the help, you are far more experienced in articles than I am Bangui (talk) 01:52, 4 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The problem is that the biography is copyrighted by the Central African Republic. Notice the copyright statement at the bottom of this page. To avoid a copyright violation, you need to completely rewrite the article in your own words. Also, you need to supply secondary sources, such as newspaper articles, to establish his notability. After reading his bio, I can see that he's led an interesting life, but for him to be considered notable by Wikipedia's criteria, he needs to be the subject of significant coverage by reliable, verifiable sources, not a self-published biography. Does that help? Please read the links I provided carefully. --SquidSK (1MClog) 02:13, 4 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hmmm. Well I am pretty sure that if he works with Governments then his biography is correct. Problem is, Colin Evans is a very common name. Finding sources to places he has been is kind of tough. Ok, understood. I will delete the article until I find more links or something. Thanks for your help. Bangui (talk) 02:20, 4 December 2009 (UTC).[reply]
