Protection templates
[edit]Please don't add protection templates to pages that have not actually been protected. I know that templates may seem confusing at first, but the template isn't actually what protects the page - it doesn't have any special powers. Only an admin can protect the page and adding a template may cause confusion and cause an admin to not take action if at some point the page really needs to be protected. FYI, WP:RFP is the page to use to request protection. Thank you. --BigDT 03:47, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
