Pavilion insurance Plc is a Coventry based specialist marketing company offering niche insurance solutions through the internet, powered by its own internally developed software. It was founded in 1997 by Chairman and CEO, Andrew Selby who recognised that specialist equipment such as musical instruments and cameras are not included in most household insurance policies, or when they are in transit. The first product was launched in the year of the Company’s inception under the Musicguard brand. Following this, a secession of products were developed, including Cycleguard in late 1998, a niche insurance solution for cyclists and Photoguard in 1999, an insurance solution for photographers. After a growth in Company profits and the launch of an in-house IT infrastructure to manage its specialist products, Pavilion listed on London’s Alternative Investment Market on 17th June 2004. The Company then became part of the Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group (London Stock Exchange: JLT) when on 22 May 2007 the Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group PLC declared its offer for Pavilion Insurance Network PLC unconditional after it received valid acceptances in respect of 48.18 mln Pavilion shares, or about 87.36 pct.of the Company's share capital.

Pavilion has continued to add to its list of niche insurance products and now offers solutions for anglers, golfers, DJs, orchestra members, mobile phone, laptop owners and owners of art and art collections, the latter under the brand name Artguard and launched on 22 June 2007. Products are purchased via Pavilion’s website and can be tailor made and managed by the customers themselves.
