Student Activities Article[edit]

Hey, I saw your post on that talk page. I wrote that article, and after becoming more familiar with Wikipedia practices, I agree that it needs to be taken care of. Our consensus so far is that we take the stuff under "About Student Activities" and make it a section of the main BYU-Idaho page. Then we can remove the article you called into question. What are your thoughts? I think we are all on the same page about improving that article. --Camrow (talk) 23:48, 3 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I already offered my two cents here, and I'm not sure what consensus you are referring to. For my part, I think what's on BYU-Idaho about the organization is generous considering it has no refs to support it...any unsourced material can be challenged and deleted, but we try not to bite new editors; hence, we've given it some time. The same goes for the stand-alone Activities article.
Another reason I wouldn't support having a stand-alone section on the main article about the org. is because I doubt that Student Activities is as big a part of the culture as you say it is. What percentage of the student body participates in SA activities? leadership? etc.? At BYU they have an org. called BYUSA (BYU Student Service Association), which does essentially the same thing as SA (I think), and BYUSA is more of a joke, psuedo-student government/party planning committee. Only about 5-7% of the BYU student population vote in elections, and even fewer participate as volunteers or "leaders".
Anyway, this is just my opinion, and overall, I am glad you are able to contribute, as we need more people to help bolster the BYU-Idaho articles. Heck, I've never attended the school and I've made most of the contributions to the article and created almost all the pictures; so, you can see you're needed. --Eustress (talk) 01:03, 4 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Userpage[edit]

FYI, I moved the article text from your userpage to User:Camrow/Sandbox. Sandboxes are nice places to work on articles before they're open to public scrutiny (or deletion). You can create as many user subpages as you want, and you may choose to do other stuff on your userpage (see WP:userpage). Also, if you would like assistance in the transition, you may choose to participate in the Adopt-a-User Program. --Eustress (talk) 01:07, 4 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Brigham Young University–Idaho Student Activities, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Brigham Young University–Idaho Student Activities. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.
