August 2010[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. The recent edit that you made to the page Speed limit enforcement has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Please use the sandbox for testing any edits; if you believe the edit was constructive, please ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing for further information. Thank you. Beeshoney (talk) 16:42, 1 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent additions of a see also link to IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems Society[edit]

I'm concerned that you're adding a vast number of links to this article, and that these links are often far below the standards of relevance necessary to justify such a link. Please consider carefully whether the addition makes each article better.

There are two aspects to consider in particular:

  • Firstly, the relationship isn't commutative. An article that is highly relevant to the IEEE sub-group doesn't necessarily imply that the IEEE group is also relevant to that article. The IEEE take an interest in the Nagel-Schreckenberg model, but the model pre-dates the IEEE group and hasn't been influenced by it.
In some case, such as Karl Peglau, you appear to be adding links where these are merely within some shared domain (perhaps cruising a Category:?) and there's no direct link in either direction.
  • Secondly, WP:SEEALSO links should generally be avoided, if the link can instead be added as an inline link, where it's particularly relevant. If it can't be added in that way, think hard as to whether it's worth adding at all! Andy Dingley (talk) 16:45, 1 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at User:Brow4554/APS. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted or removed. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. This sort of edit to a user's sub-page could easily be considered vandalism. It isn't a good idea to make changes to pages if other's userspace like that. Andy Dingley (talk) 16:48, 1 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not vandalize pages, as you did with this edit to Telematics. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing. Beeshoney (talk) 16:50, 1 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Please stop. Continuing to insert unrelated external links can lead to you being blocked. If this is an automated action, please review WP:BOTPOL and get your action approved before continuing. Thanks, Shirik (Questions or Comments?) 16:52, 1 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
