External links[edit]

Hi there! You'll be interested to learn about Wikipedia's guidelines on external links to non-Wikipedia pages. External links never appear in the article body, and are either included as references (when the linked page is a reliable source) or in the "External links" section. I've incorporated your recent contributions into their respective articles the best I can, but you may find other editors remove your contributions when they go against this guideline. Hope that helps, and happy editing! Ibadibam (talk) 22:14, 30 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Ibadibam, I use Wikipedia often so I want to do my part to help edit but I'm still learning the system. I now understand from your communication that the links should have been articles not directly the 606 website (I'm not associated with it, just interested in the path as its in my neighborhood) Sorry and thanks (I tried to edit cites wikipedia recommended but I didn't know anything about any of them so searched for anything top of mind I might know something about that would be of interest to others). I will keep editing and hope to learn and do better with each edit. ChicagoBeerfan (talk) 16:45, 1 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
That's the spirit! I appreciate your clearing up your connection to the project as well, as there's a Wikipedia policy about conflict of interest as well. There's a lot of guidelines and policies on Wikipedia. I've been here for eight years and I'm still finding out about rules I never knew existed. And some users are very territorial about them, so don't lose hope if somebody tries to start an edit war with you over some obscure style point. If you're interested in working on Chicago-related articles, you might take a look at what's going on at WikiProject Chicago (I used to participate there as well, until I moved away ).
