Richard Parker[edit]

Ahhh... the list of unusual deaths page, where I've spent many an afternoon dropping into an internet k-hole. Somehow, any time I think of Ricky Jay's opening monologue in Magnolia, I end up on that page for hours! Anyway, I'm inclined to agree with DavidWBrooks, the mod who overwrote the revisions that Trut-h-urts_man made to your edits. The inclusion of Richard Parker is warranted because of the Poe connection, the cannibalization, and, I would argue, the name (although Richard Parker was a common name at the time). That said, there is some dispute about the actual events aboard the Mignonette, so I might think about dredging up some better citations if I were you. You should do one of two things. 1) pose a question on the article's talk page about the worthiness of Richard Parker, explaining your reasoning or 2) contact each of those editors on their talk pages to solicit feedback (bearing in mind that DavidWBrooks is a newspaper reporter who has been a mod on WP since 2004, while Trut-h-urts_man is a fairly new editor who self-identifies as a recent changes patroller... not that this necessarily counts for anything, but I would keep it in mind).
