Spooks edit[edit]

Episode 8 of the current series has aired on BBC1 on the 6th Dec at 10.00pm. I did not see it ahead of anyone else so I decied to update the spooks page! If you did not watch it then it is not my fault for including spoilers, i did watch it! That does not violate Wikipedia:Spoiler. CalumH93 (talk) 16:46, 8 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It only aired in Scotland, from what I can uncover. That technically falls under the same reasoning we prefer not to use content from the BBC Three broadcast - it isn't the official broadcast of the programme. However, as the programme has now aired, I see no reason to not update the Spooks page (if it hasn't already been updated). ~~ [ジャム][talk] 23:07, 8 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback[edit]

Hi there. :) Just a note to say that rollback should be used for blatant vandalism rather than good faith edits, as here. The Quill is no vandal. Best wishes, PeterSymonds (talk) 22:43, 16 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, fair enough, duly noted :) DBD 22:48, 16 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Resolution of the of Wales issue...[edit]

Hi DBD, I hadn't checked on the debate recently, and noticed no further post on the issue. Was interested if there had been any resolution or developments? Cheers, Paul Roberton (talk) 16:45, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm about to unleash at the new survey/debate page. I look forward to your feedback ;) Paul Roberton (talk) 00:36, 3 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

of Wales/Middle Name Issue[edit]

Thanks for your support on moving the pages of the children of Frederick, Prince of Wales to of Great Britain. If you think the middle names should be taken out, go for it. When I moved the pages, however, I didn't alter the reading of their Christian names. I just figured that whoever created/moved those pages under their full Christian names had done so for some reason. GiovanniCarestini (talk) 02:18, 4 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! Could you please remove the realm parameter (different options for countries) yourself? I've tried few times, but I failed. For some reason the heading was removed along with the realm parameter. Thank you. Surtsicna (talk) 22:04, 5 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! Here I am again :) I've created Template:Infobox Royalty, I hope you don't mind. It's so great that I couldn't wait :)
Anyway, I noticed that the succession fields make the infobox looooooong (too long). Can you make them collapsable, like Template:Infobox Actor (Awards won section)? Surtsicna (talk) 11:22, 6 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Character Merge Proposal[edit]

Hi, I've made a proposal on The Bill Project talk page that I'd appreciate your thoughts on. You can see the proposal here Wikipedia talk:WikiProject The Bill#Merge of The Bill Characters --Deadly∀ssassin 09:37, 6 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Infoboxes[edit]

Thanks for the pointer. For a wide-ranging change like this, including a link to that discussion in the edit summary would be *very* helpful. Orpheus (talk) 10:29, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Scope of Infobox Royalty[edit]

Hi! Could you please take a look at Template talk:Infobox Royalty#Scope. I would like to remove Infobox Royalty from articles about people who are not royalty (e.g. Lord Nicholas Windsor - he simply isn't royal). It is quite clear who is British royalty (everyone entitled to styles Majesty and Royal Highness) and we shouldn't make up reasons to use this infobox for people who are simply not royal. If the use of this template gets out of control, I'm afraid there would be another RfC and quite possibly a request for deletion. I wouldn't like this template to spread like herpes :) Surtsicna (talk) 13:04, 10 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

hey DBD, i was trying to make the first pic there to be bigger- 300px- instead of the default 210 that the infbx gives. i tried and tried and didn't solve the problem. see it used to be like that instead of that. the 300px thing worked with the old emperor infbx but not the new one. =/ --CuteHappyBrute (talk) 10:54, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

what? reading stuff through works?? eh i thought that because it had the imgw 210px thingy in the template that the template should be fixed. dunno anything bout infbxs. Thanx mate! --CuteHappyBrute (talk) 11:26, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Styles[edit]

Can you bring your knowledge (anyone else you think could help) to a discussion at President of the United States#Style of the President about whether "the Honorable" or "Mr. President" is the U.S. President's style? -Rrius (talk) 05:22, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please take a look at Anna of Austria (1573–1598) infobox. There is something wrong with the second reign parameter. I've tried to fix it, but (of course) failed. I've also left you a message at Template talk:Infobox Royalty/doc#When name equals title. Surtsicna (talk) 21:08, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

female-line grandchildren of sovereign[edit]

Hi there, you have changed considerably the Order of Precedence in England and Wales article with respect to the Members of the Royal Family section. You have put in categories, which does clarify things more, but I feel is unneeded. This is because the categories are already in the Order of Precedence in the United Kingdom main article. As well you have inserted Peter/Zara/Autumn Phillips and the Earl of Harewood, who have been previously excluded after lengthy debate in the talk section "12 Precedence of non-HRH "Royals" revisited", which have recent entries from me. I will put this in the talk page as well and I will amend accordingly. Eddo 17:34, 08 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Henry VI[edit]

Thank you very much for helping me edit the Henry VI main template for his reign as king of france de jure.Goodbye.--HENRY V OF ENGLAND (talk) 11:45, 22 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sir Roger Parker[edit]

I'm trying to track down some info on Sir Roger Jocelyn Parker for the List of current members of the British Privy Council. He seems to have been a civil servant in the Department of the Environment and has written on energy topic including something called "windscale". Here's a link some books he's written. -Rrius (talk) 23:38, 24 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

On the other hand, he may have been a High Court judge. In any event, I can't figure out why he was appointed. -Rrius (talk) 23:45, 24 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Never mind, I tracked him down. He was made a High Court judge Lord Justice of Appeal in 1983. I guess I should have gone to the Gazette earlier. -Rrius (talk) 00:02, 25 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Infobox Royalty[edit]

Hello! I think we should make the succession part (reign+coronation+predecessor+successor+regent) collapsable, like es:Plantilla:Ficha de monarca. That would make room for many succession boxes inside the infobox and the infobox wouldn't be too long. The infobox of Eleanor of Aquitaine article, for example, has three succession parameters. If we could make them collapsable, the infobox would be significantly shorter, but nothing would be lost. Surtsicna (talk) 19:37, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
