Inappropriate edit summaries[edit]

Edit summaries like this one are not appropriate. People make mistakes, and the extra commentary doesn't help to build a collegial atmosphere. Remember, comment on content, not people. Imzadi 1979  23:06, 16 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

October 2022[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on OK Computer. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. JG66 (talk) 14:59, 5 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Fine. You win. DENBRO1995 (talk) 16:04, 5 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

November 2022[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contribution(s). I am glad to see that you are discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, while user talk pages permit a small degree of generalisation, other talk pages are strictly for discussing improvements to their associated main pages, and many of them have special instructions on the top. They are not a general discussion forum about the article's topic or any other topic. If you have questions or ideas and are not sure where to post them, consider asking at the Teahouse. Thanks. Removal of accessibility features[edit]

Re {{2023 AFC standings}} and {{2023 NFC standings}}, why did you remove the accessibility features required by MOS:TABLECAPTION and MOS:COLHEAD? The argument "this is how it's always been" is not acceptable for making this site more difficult for the blind to navigate. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 22:23, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

What do you mean required accessibility features? I even said that if you disagree, place it on the article's talk page, not mine. Thank you. Goodbye. DENBRO1995 (talk) 22:55, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Did you even read my edit summary? They are outlined at MOS:TABLECAPTION and MOS:COLHEAD. They are required. I don't want to have to post on literally millions of talk pages to discuss what's required over and over again for every single table. Please do not remove these. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 22:57, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I hate Wikipedia's editors. They are SO strict when they don't have to be. DENBRO1995 (talk) 22:59, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Strict about what? Accessibility for the blind? How is that a bad thing? Do you think accessibility is just optional? ―Justin (koavf)TCM 23:02, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I said take it to the article's talk page. DENBRO1995 (talk) 23:08, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
There are two templates and they have identical issues. Are you starting two conversations? ―Justin (koavf)TCM 23:15, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No, I'm not. DENBRO1995 (talk) 23:17, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm trying to talk about both of the templates, the NFC and the AFC. Honestly, using basic templates makes things look old school, like it's 2007 Wikipedia. DENBRO1995 (talk) 23:23, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Dude, I have no idea what you're talking about with "basic templates". I'm just trying to ensure that we comply with basic accessibility for the blind. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 23:26, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Did they just make a new rule about accessibility to the blind? DENBRO1995 (talk) 23:30, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No. These have been around for well over a decade. Did you read them or not? I am concerned with semantics, but if you have a style related issue, let me know and I can help you figure out a CSS solution. What is your aesthetic objection? Can you be more specific thatn "2007"? ―Justin (koavf)TCM 23:31, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm trying to be specific. It's just that other editors are more used to the old format. If that rule has been around for over a decade, why wait until now to make sure the templates comply? DENBRO1995 (talk) 23:34, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
There's not any "waiting": I have worked on this for hundreds of hours a year for years. There are millions of tables here and not only do I get very little help, but I get editors who actively undo these fixes and then I have to have these conversations over and over again. It's exhausting. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 23:43, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Then you should take a break. The conversation's over. DENBRO1995 (talk) 23:45, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately, there are very few editors concerned with fixing all of the accessibility problems here, so there's a mountain of work to do. If you want to help me, that's great. I don't know what you mean by the conversation being "done", but if you're agreed that these accessibility features are a requirement that should not be removed, then that's a win for the blind. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 23:49, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I admittedly took a while to get used to the new format since I've been editing for years. The tables are easier to read and maintain with your version, especially for newer editors. I made some small edits to restore AFC and NFC header backgrounds, and to have exactly one #ifeq conditional for each team. Thanks. Bluejay14 (talk) 02:12, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. I really appreciate it. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 02:29, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
