[edit] Re: Louis Lesser
Dark, that may be the case, but at this point I'm taking anything like this with about a truckload or eight of salt. I think I'm a bit perturbed at this person, as I see chutzpah - he gives us articles and such that, as I pointed out, don't even mention the words Louis or Lesser, or mention him in passing, I call him on it, and he demands an apology! Then there's the whole Ferdinand Marcos thing that Hullaballoo ferretted out. To be frank, Dark, that editor is not behaving in a way that makes me want to side with him, let alone believe him in the slightest. As for PPV articles, it's hard to say. In the final analysis, this guy may just be unnotable. --Dennis The Tiger (Rawr and stuff) 03:52, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Messina Hof
I've declined speedy deletion on Messina Hof, as I don't think it's obviously an advertisment. A previous article with the same name certainly was, and was correctly speedied. If you choose to take this matter to AfD, please open a fresh (#2) AfD, to avoid confusion with the speedy-closed first one of yesterday. Thanks. -- Finlay McWalter • Talk 20:10, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned non-free image File:Gillcloseup.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Gillcloseup.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
PLEASE NOTE:
- I am a bot, and will therefore not be able to answer your questions.
- I will remove the request for deletion if the file is used in an article once again.
- If you receive this notice after the image is deleted, and you want to restore the image, click here to file an un-delete request.
- To opt out of these bot messages, add

[edit] Whooping
Hi Brian,
When nominating a redirect for deletion, it is important to start the discussion on the "Redirects for discussion" page so that editors can add their input as to whether or not the redirect should be deleted. I would be interested in participating in the discussion of the Whooping redirect if you still believe it to be worthy of deletion.
Neelix (talk) 22:08, 20 October 2010 (UTC)
- Sorry about that. I used Twinkle, and the nomination procedures apparently never completed properly, and I had to be at work before I could clean it up. CNN ran a feature on "whooping" as a tradition of African-American churches, and although there is no article on that at present, it's enough of a difference to make a disambig page more reasonable than the redirect to the A&M page. - Hi Brian,
-
- No worries. Why not just move the redirect to Whooping (A&M) and expand the resulting redirect at Whooping to an article on the African-American tradition?
[edit] Replaceable fair use File:Gillcloseup.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Gillcloseup.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
- On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. SchuminWeb (Talk) 06:13, 29 November 2010 (UTC)
[edit] Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Libertarian Party UK
Brian, you may remember this organisation which you nominated under Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Libertarian Party (United Kingdom). It's reappeared under a new name and I've renominated it. I attempted to get it speedy deleted but this was rejected as it had been expanded. I wonder if you now think it meets notability. Regards JRPG (talk) 16:30, 26 December 2010 (UTC)
