ArbCom 2017 election voter message[edit]

Hello, Digitallymade. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December. All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

I am now using a complete secure system for access to the internet including, but not limited to a VPN, and Protonmail.com which is a secure end to end encrypted email service. You seem to be blocking me only when I use my VPN. I hope you can unblock my access in this regard, else I will not be able to participate any longer

You are not blocked and none of the IPs that show up in a check are blocked. You would have to supply the blocked IPs for us. "You seem to be blocking me only when I use my VPN." Then the answer would be to not use the VPN when editing WP. It looks like you have both IPv4 and IPv6 access available.

My vpn is currently off and is telling me my ip is 73.173.219.238. When I enable it, it can pick several different vp hosts, mostly in Virginia and I found the one ending in 179 and reenabled it the last time. My vpn comes on with the computer. The discussion is relevant to a topic on this talk page. I don't appreciate your censorship of this topic. Wikipedia IS coming under examination for it's bias just as Facebook and Google are. Please consider: you accuse journalists and others of making ignorant claims about firearms, without bothering to understand the topic. But you're bashing around Wikipedia, knocking over the furniture and acting the fool, without bothering to understand what is happening. Educate yourself and you will be less frustrated.

Here's my suggestions: In case you missed it, the topic of "silencer" vs "suppressor" was discussed at Talk:Silencer (firearms)#Requested move 24 February 2018. If you're suggesting reversing that decision, I think you should try to understand the reasons it was made, and consider why you think the near-unanimous support for renaming the article would be changed now. Please read the citations in Silencer (firearms)#Terminology, particularly the dictionary definitions that say "silence", "muffle" and "suppress" mean the same thing. "Silencer" was not made up by liberal media; it was used by the inventor in 1909. Suppressor wasn't used until 1985, and it was rarely used until 20 years later. I provided quotes of many gun media article in the collapsed section, and they are very consistent with the news media reports that the move to the euphemism "suppressor" only began in the 2010s, and prior to that, gun experts used the terms interchangeably. No gun experts who think "silence" means "100% inaudible" provide any evidence for that. If you have any to cite, please cite them.

The difference between using the talk page to improve an article, and using it as a soapbox is focus. Focus on a specific change you want to make in an article, and give concise reasons and reliable sources that support it. Do not try to kick of a huge debate, and do not try to right great wrongs.

You redirected SIG Sauer M18 to SIG Sauer M17. Hmmm. Are you sure that is a good idea?

If SIG Sauer M18 is a topic that could potentially merit a standalone article then guidelines recommend leaving it as a red-link.

So, is it a topic that merits a standalone article? I dunno. I admit I am not knowledgeable enough about guns to know this.

I just read the article on the Sig P320, which referred to the SIG Sauer M17 and SIG Sauer M18. I frankly found all the explanations as to how the two models differ confusing. "Carry model", what is that? Is one model smaller than the other? Are there other differences?
