how do i make my own user page?

Marsha Blackburn

There are a couple of users who are continuously removing the sentence explaining that Blackburn cannot name a solider from her district who was killed in Iraq (which is factually true, encyclopedic, and has been verified with sources). Could user 76.100.186.194 and Abacab be blocked, or could the article be put under some kind of edit protection? this is getting out of hand! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Strongbad1982 (talkcontribs) 21:38, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

User:Bobby Valentino43

Block this user, he disrespected WWE, Bratz, Def Jam, Maurice Sendak, users and Maria Isabel. He said that Isabel is featured in a Def Jam game, Which is a Violent game for a 12-year old girl to be featured in--68.44.84.185 03:18, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

Question

I have a quick question. I may have not read well the page : WP:USER but can people make info pages like similar to User:Trinity1989? I'm not sure if we can do that... also, if the user page is used for "promotional reasons", how can it be deleted? --esanchez, Sign your name here! 05:40, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

The account is clearly promotional, and the user in question has used it to create articles advertising himself. It can be deleted by listing it for Speedy Deletion or filing an AfD, or reporting it to the Admins' Noticeboard. Do you want to take care of it? (reply on my talk page if you need help).

Have a nice day,

Don't bite the newcomers reminder

I came accross your comments here from a few months ago, and was rather perplexed. Your message came accross rather harshly, and the editor does not seem to have stuck around. The perplexing part is you tell them to use the sandbox, and if you look at their edit history, that is where they made the edit you refered to. So they were do exactly what they were supposed to do. Just an FYI to be careful, though you might want to go in and remove your message/appologize. Aboutmovies 19:30, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

Are you Ok?

Hey are you okay? That was quite intense for a few minutes.

I was talking about that vandalism a few minutes ago...well it sorta says it all down there anyway. --Joelster 04:28, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

Vandalism

Thanks for reverting the vandalism on my page. The user was a vandal and found me (I was reverting most of his blanking). Thanks anyway!

I was worried about the vandalism spree but it appears that the user was blocked straight after getting to your page. The IP has since made a further addition to his own user talk page, which unfortunately he is all too able to do... All the best. Bobo. 04:18, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:I_Need_To_Know.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:I_Need_To_Know.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Alpta 20:25, 7 September 2007 (UTC)

What happened here?

I thought you were a vandal but obviously you're quite the opposite. Any idea what happened here? Richard001 07:58, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

Da Dangerous Vandal

I'd like to report a VERY persistent vandal. You probably already know this but User:Believe in the light and be saved is going around and putting in the same writing on every page he's edited. I was thinking that if he continued this vandalism, Wikipedia might have to block him. Right now I'll be keeping a close watch on him. 10:07, Sept. 20th

September 2007

Thank you for making a report at Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Reporting and removing vandalism is vital to the functioning of Wikipedia and all users are encouraged to revert, warn, and report vandalism. However, administrators generally only block users if they have received a recent final warning (one that mentions that the user may be blocked) and they have recently vandalized after that warning was given. The reported user has not yet been blocked because it appears this has not occurred yet. If this user continues to vandalize after their final warning, please report them to the AIV noticeboard again. Thank you. Jmlk17 02:17, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

Hi, I noticed that this user has gone and blanked a page entirely despite your warning, I am unsure of how to report this incident. Can the user be blocked? Andrew Eng 09:33, 3 October 2007 (UTC)

signature

i notice some people have like bold or colored signatures. is ther a way to change this? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.167.127.54 (talk) 21:25, 15 October 2007 (UTC)

Hello

I did not vandalize the Give It To Me Page, as you can see on wikipedia, all the chart positions in a specific country below the song have been removed and are only kept at the bottom of the page. So i went on ahead helping the process by removing the chart positions as it happened in all the other songs on Wikipedia. If this is an action of vandalism, then i am certainly not the only person doing it as apposed to other people who have kept doing it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.198.76.41 (talk) 04:45, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

Thank You!

Thanks for reverting the vandalisim on my User page. I probably wouldn't have noticed it! Dadude3320 23:13, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

Sorry. When I find vandalism, I head for it to fix it! But glad to help!

Please don't be sorry! I spend so much time in the Mainspace that I barely check up on my user page these days, unless I'm updating the information on it! I was referring to the IP address whose vandalism I reverted just a few minutes previously, not to yourself. All the best. Bobo. 03:02, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

Muchas gracias

Hi. Thanks for your reverts of vandalism to my userpage. Whomever I've annoyed is most persistent; this has been happening for several days now. The page has been semi-protected - hopefully things will quiet down a bit. Have a cookie. --Jack Merridew 09:11, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

Rap 'vandalism'

Note that I do not suffer fools well, let alone self-righteous adolescents with a god complex. I am entitled to incorporate a statement that is reflective of the general nature and cultural influences of hip-hop, whether or not you like it is another matter. Vandalism is generally regarded as an attempt to destroy, damage, or deface an item in question - thus, your blanket reversion is completely unacceptable. 124.179.125.87 04:58, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

The note that was added was far from a neutral point of view. It mad a negative generalization of the article you were editing. I have the rights to remove the opinion of someone from here because it's not acceptable on the articles. --Esanchez(Talk 2 me or Sign here) 05:00, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

Perhaps you should read http://blackyouthproject.uchicago.edu/primers/reviews/hiphop.pdf - it substantiates my "NPOV" claim rather well indeed, with the focus of academic research centering primarily on the association with criminality. Numerous citations are provided throughout. :-) 124.179.125.87 05:03, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

I know rap and hip hop pretty well. If you want to include that, you might want to put it in a different way. Not all rap music is talks about negative ideas, which you make it look like that when you put it in the beginning of the article. That's why I removed it: You made it sound like rapping is a negative influence. --Esanchez(Talk 2 me or Sign here) 05:06, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
The strong positive association between hip-hop culture and criminality, sexual and physical violence, drug use, pan-Africanism, black hypermasculinity, rampant homophobia, and "objectification and [derogation] of women" cannot be simply disregarded on the face of the fact that a (minority) of rap music promotes a positive message. The strong and virulent disregard for law and order should well be strongly phrased in my view; I find it incredulous that all serious attempts at critical analysis of hip-hop are regarded as "racist" or "oppressive", and this view is even self-evident on Wikipedia, with little to no serious reference to the cultural underpinnings. I suggest you conduct some research of your own. 124.179.125.87 05:09, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
OK, I see your point. Not all hip hop is considered positive and many people see it one way only. But I' just saying that that just one sentence shouldn't be placed there. It doesn't sound well with it. Consider of putting it somewhere other than the beginning, 'cause it gives a negative message about the concept it talks about. I know your point now and I praise it then but put it in a way to make it sound 'neutral'. --Esanchez(Talk 2 me or Sign here) 05:22, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Lucky Day by Shaggy.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Lucky Day by Shaggy.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 01:32, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
