Thank you Magnolia677! I didn't understand how citing sources on Wikipedia worked and the guide for citing sources that you linked really helped. I reedited the population figure on the Wilton, California page, citing my source this time. I think I did it correctly, but if not, I'd really appreciate correction. Please help me with... I've found that when I update the population total on a page such as Mather, Sacramento County, California the population density line no longer shows up. When editing, population data says "auto" so I assumed there was a formula where it just divides population by area but that doesn't seem to be the case. I realized that it only deletes the population density line once I cite the source. I still don't know why, but there's some added info. Am I citing the source incorrectly?

No, it will be that the template doesn't understand how to handle the source being there, so it fails to make the calculation and hence the line disappears. - Rich^T|C|E-Mail 00:48, 1 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Ok got it. Yeah my first edit got removed because I didn't have the source referenced, but I feel like those population figures never have references. I don't know, we'll see if this one holds up. Thanks for helping!
