The Very Best Of Billie Piper[edit]

It might not have been your intention, but you recently removed content from The Very Best Of Billie Piper. Please be careful not to remove content from Wikipedia without a valid reason, which you should specify in the edit summary or on the article's talk page. Thank you. A link to the edit I have reverted can be found here: link. If you believe this edit should not have been reverted, please contact me. AA Milne 20:28, 24 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You'll have to change your username[edit]

Hi. I'm sorry but you can't have the name of a real celebrity as your username, please see the username policy. Please choose a different name and use the page Wikipedia:Changing username to change to it. Cbrown1023 20:54, 24 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Duplicate page[edit]

Hi, JS121. In order to move a page, simply click on the tab that says "move" at the top of the page and follow the directions. Details are here. It's important not to "cut and paste" by creating a new article with duplicate content, because that removes the article's edit history, which we need for copyright purposes. I'll fix it this time. —Josiah Rowe (talkcontribs) 00:28, 25 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hilary Duff articles[edit]

 1. Please don't insert excess numbers of fair use images (ones that are not under a free license). Per Wikipedia:Fair use criteria, "The amount of copyrighted work used should be as little as possible ... Do not use multiple images or media clips if one will serve the purpose adequately.", and "The material must contribute significantly to the article (e.g. identify the subject of an article, or specifically illustrate relevant points or sections within the text) and must not serve a purely decorative purpose." Also, the images had no fair use rationale on their description pages.
 2. Song titles go in double quotation marks, and in accordance with Wikipedia:Naming_conventions#Album_titles_and_band_names conjunctions, prepositions (such as "over") and articles shouldn't be capitalised. Words such as "dance", "album version" and "remix" are not proper nouns, so they shouldn't be capitalised either. Also, it's "Track listing", not "Tracklisting". Thanks. Extraordinary Machine 17:22, 29 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
 • Actually words like "Album Version" and "Remix 2005" are capitalised on most CDs and if it is capitalised on the CD it means that it should be on an information site! Also the pictures I have uploaded are helpful because they save other people having to search through sites like amazon.com just to get them, also they are not copyrighted from web sites as long as no one is claiming it as their own work! Album and single covers aren't copyrighted because they are used to promote singles and sometimes show the mood of the song. Also you could of thinked about this before 'attacking' me. I will not go into arguing because its not worth it.
Um, please become more familiar with Wikipedia policies (and it's subpages) before you question them. Also, I agree with Extraordinary Machine. Cbrown1023 20:58, 29 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

 • Maybe you people forgot to read, 'Wikipedia does not have firm rules besides the five general principles elucidated here. Be bold in editing, moving, and modifying articles, because the joy of editing is that although it should be aimed for, perfection isn't required. And don't worry about messing up. All prior versions of articles are kept, so there is no way that you can accidentally damage Wikipedia or irretrievably destroy content. But remember — whatever you write here will be preserved for posterity.' It also says you should not be having 'personal attacks' which this obviously is, you could of at least went onto the Hilary Duff 'Talk Page' and said this and just corrected any mistakes! Maybe you should be looking at Wikipedia's policies more! Jessica_simpson121
It also says that you should be bold, but not reckless in updating pages, not saying that you are reckless. But allowing a possible copyright violation is definately reckless. And if you believe that you can do whatever you want on Wikipedia, as long as you have "the joy of editing", than I think you should read more policies. (OMG, this is getting annoying, are we gonna say that all day... you should read more policies, no you should read more......).
This is also not a personal attack, that is being upset with you and holding you accountable for your edits. We are telling you what not to do so that you no longer make bad edits. It is giving you pointers. I am very sorry if you feel that this is a personal attack.
Also, what was the result of your requested for a change of username? Cbrown1023 21:13, 30 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I just looked at your username change page, you seem not be following policies across the board. Please pick a username as defined acceptible at Wikipedia:Username. Thank you, Cbrown1023 21:15, 30 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

 • I have tried to have my username changed but it seems like that is being refused.

Jessica_simpson121

I understand that, my point is that it is denied for your inability to follow Wikipedia's policies on usernames. (see Wikipedia:Username) Cbrown1023 21:50, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Rename[edit]

As requested, I have renamed you as User:Generation talk123. You should now move your userpages to the new name. Warofdreams talk 23:09, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Images[edit]

Only images that are in the public domain or are not copyrighted can be used in your userspace. To find out if any of the images you want to use are, please see the images own description pages. Normally accessible by putting a colon in front the link name in the brackets... i.e. :Image:Jessica Simpson with microphone.jpg gives: Image:Jessica Simpson with microphone.jpg. As you can see, the image mentioned above is acceptible because it is in the public domain. If you have any more questions, please contact me on my talk page. Thanks, :-). Cbrown1023 22:59, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

 • Oh, sorry. I guess that means your not able to use album/single pictures on your userpage. Oh well, thanks for the advice! You probably saved me from getting into a lot of trouble.]

Again Thanks, Generation talk123 No problem...

You might also want to consider using "|thumb" when putting images inside aritlces and your user page. I find that it looks nicer, but you make the descion for your user page.
Instead of the following which is give using

using you get
You can also choose whether to align it left, right, or center by placing a "|" and then your choice ( |left or |right or |center ) (right is default). Cbrown1023 23:08, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Good job... you are a quick learner. :) Cbrown1023 23:28, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

 • Thanks, and yeah it does look better. I was just having a look for a pic of Mariah Carey that wasn't copyrighted. Anyways I'm just trying to make my user page look nicer than before.

Thanks for all the help, Generation_talk123 13:31, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Hannahmontanasoundtrack.jpg[edit]

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Hannahmontanasoundtrack.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. When you use a generic fair use tag such as fair use or article name, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Piper Season8Promo.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Piper Season8Promo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 03:51, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image tagging for Image:Billie sdi3.JPG[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Billie sdi3.JPG. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

Fair use rationale for Image:Just be free2.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Just be free2.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:02, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free use disputed for Image:Walkoflifesingle.JPG[edit]

Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted after seven days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:53, 14 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Sorealsingle.jpg}[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:Sorealsingle.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check:

 • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
 • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. License tagging for File:Alexandra burke hallelujah.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Alexandra burke hallelujah.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
