Resurrection of Southern California Task Force[edit]
After moving from Los Angeles County to Kern County to San Luis Obispo County, I am finally realizing that there is life in California outside of L.A. and San Francisco, where I lived and grew up. Oh, I have also lived in San Diego, San Bernardino, San Joaquin, Yolo and Sacramento counties, and I earned my undergraduate degree in Riverside County. I am trying to breathe life into the Southern California Task Force, and I hope you will join me. Could you visit our list of participants at the other end of this link and update your description of what you are interested in doing for us, assuming that you still want to be in the mix, that is.

Can You Help Me Preserve A Former SD University Legacy (USIU)?[edit]
Hi GhostKrashers,
I saw you cover and work on things related to education in SD. I am looking for help as I am a novice on Wikipedia but I feel there's an important story and legacy to preserve around what is now a former SD Institution known as USIU. I was trying to get the page started and then let the wider Alumni community contribute to it. There are disparate pages on Wikipedia out there which I have included below, but I believe this needs to be organized into one page.
I believe I have a great start with this draft. However, Wiki Admin has told me the page already exists so I can't publish. It was suggested that I publish it all to the page they say 'exists'. Then later suggest a seperate page. Can you help with this?
USIU was a private non-for-profit Univ in San Diego. After only 13 years of Cal West's existence, in 1966 The Cal West Univ president created USIU. It was a beautiful attempt at creating one university with campuses all around the world - To bring the world closer (in 1966). The land for their main campus is now Point Loma Nazarene. It had an athletics program that produced professional NFL and NHL players (yes Ice Hockey in San Diego, at the time any ice hockey west of Colorado was unheard of at that time). The mascot was the 'Gulls" - Which is now SD pro Team. There are Sports Illustrated articles I have found as well as coverage by the Union Tribune, Reader, etc. There are articles and even a documentary about one of its basketball platers. A legendary football coach also coached at USIU during his twilight. This is really a forgotten SD legacy.
The fact is that USIU was always in constant financial trouble and it merged with another school, California School for Professional Psychology (CSPP) in equal financial dire straits in 2001, the new entity was called Alliant International University. Somehow CSPP's legacy has been preserved with its own Wiki Page, but USIU does not have one. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/California_School_of_Professional_Psychology
The larger community has tried to establish some sort of legacy with its own Alumni page, which is odd that is all that exists (Seperate from Alliant).

Now to make things a little worse and more dire Alliant International has become a For-Profit Corporation as of 2015 (no athletics, different culture as well.) I personally feel this is big distinction with USIU.
