Gallery of Bradford City kits

I fixed the wonky formatting for the first two decades in the Gallery of Bradford City kits article. I'll let you have the 'fun' of fixing the rest. Also: I think that the article should be moved to Gallery of Bradford City A.F.C. kits (or uniforms?). BlankVerse 10:18, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

The last decade is too wide for readers viewing the page at 1024x768. You might divide that section into two rows. Anything over four 'kits' wide may be too wide for people viewing the page at 800x600, so you might also consider dividing those decades.
Also: I'm not sure how well the gallery page fits into the guidelines at Wikipedia:Galleries, although nobody will probably find the page unless they were specifically looking for the different gallery pages in the Wikipedia namespace like I was. :-) BlankVerse 11:18, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

Beth Ditto

I've warned the user like you requested - (incidentally, any editor can warn vandals using the templates available at WP:WARN, the only privilege admins have in that context is the ability to block them.

I checked Beth Ditto and it is already semi-protected from anonymous vandalism, and full protection is never advisable for just vandalism - it has only been vandalised once in the past fortnight anyway, which isn't that much. Hope this helps, cheers. Qwghlm 19:24, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

List of Bradford City A.F.C. Players

I'd be happy to help: just hope my memory kicks in and I can think of some players!

In Evil Hour

Hi: I removed the "Spanish language tag" from In Evil Hour because I added it to Category:Colombian novels. I.e., as you see from looking at Category:Spanish language novels, all Colombian novels are therefore included as Spanish language novels, and there's no need to add the tag specially to In Evil Hour. --Jbmurray 18:53, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

OK, and if you want the page to focus on the translation, go ahead. (I notice that there's plenty of inconsistency on this point: compare, say, El juguete rabioso, El lugar sin límites, or El Periquillo Sarniento). --Jbmurray 19:41, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

Why was the above article which I created speedily deleted? Thanks, GiantSnowman 15:25, 18 May 2007 (UTC)

Copyright violation. Aquarius • talk 15:29, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
I would leave it until it's been tagged by someone. Aquarius • talk 15:54, 18 May 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the kind comments - I've taken the article about as far as I can for now. It's been a bit of a labour of love as I always had a lot of time for him when he was at Saints and he was always good for a laugh. The way his career went after the tackle at Bradford was quite sad, but it's good to hear him now on local radio on match days - he can be quite critical of the present day players! And you can understand what he says when compared to Jimmy Case.

After re-reading the article I realised that I was at both his home debut (what a match!) and the Nightmare at Elm Park (Ouch!)

I hope the exams have gone OK - best wishes. Daemonic Kangaroo 19:42, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

Robin Huisman de Jong

A tag has been placed on Robin Huisman de Jong, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.  slυмgυм [ ←→ ] 20:01, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

I thought I had best explain my edit as you reverted it without any edit summary. I expanded each reference out so that they include a wiki link to BBC News, add in the retrieval date, give each ref a name and so on. That is quite a normal standard format for references and is also easier to use as well as including extra information. I realise that you were adding the references in one way, but expanding the references out is quite standard and more informative. My apologies for butting in while you had the in use tag on, but I did so only because of your bringing it up on the football project and I thought it might help. I hope though that perhaps you might see why I expanded the refs. Thanks and best wishes.♦Tangerines♦·Talk 17:39, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

Hi, no problem. Maybe it would be best for me to wait until you have finished your edits and then just make the changes to the refs? I think that given the profile of the event it is notable and if sources can be added (as you are doing) then there should be no reason for it to be proposed for deletion. It is a good article in my opinion you have created. As I said though, I will wait until you have finished editing. Cheers. ♦Tangerines♦·Talk 17:53, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

Rob Steiner

Hi there. I was amazed that there was no Rob Steiner page on wikipedia and so have just spent a good hour setting Rob Steiner (footballer) up and then re-directing all links to this page rather than Robert Steiner which appears to be about an American football coach. Anyway pretty much as soon as I'd completed everything I realised the Robert Steiner page was one you had created a year or so ago and someone, and it appears Robert Steiner himself, has recently completely taken over.

I don't know if you want to leave the pages as they are or try get the one I've done to the old page. Any thoughts? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Peanut4 (talkcontribs) 03:58, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

I didn't think it was worthy for inclusion either but thought best to seek your advice. I reckon it might need a look out for in case he recreates his page again. If so probably bring to the attention of Football project. Peanut4 10:15, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

List of Bradford City A.F.C. players

Hi again. I've updated a few of the players on the list - tonight I've added everyone who has played for City since 2000. The only two players who need individual pages set up seem to be Clint Davies (who I've wikilinked) and Andy Lee (who I haven't wikilinked).

I personally have a list of everyone who's played for City since they were formed and I'm going to gradually go through the list backwards or as I find certain players.

Since you set the list up, I wondered if you had any requests as to whether I should just mass input all the data myself. It's my own data though as far as I know 100% correct. But so far I've only added players that can be easily corborated, e.g. soccerbase. Let me know your thoughts. Peanut4 01:08, 6 October 2007 (UTC)

I'm gonna try go through decade by decade. I've found a few from the 90s that are missing which should be easy to add Wikipedia entries for the player. But if you want I can add my data and put it all on the list and go through adding individual entries.

Obviously soccerbase is the gospel though is not always correct. I've just found Darren Moore's entry is wrong so I'm a bit wary about putting on with my own data on spec. Though that said most of it is from Terry Frost's 1988 book and the rest I've added since then. Peanut4 14:57, 6 October 2007 (UTC)

Nice work to create this entry. I'm trying to go through the list of top scorers in Bradford City A.F.C. seasons and at least create a stub for all of them. If you can manage to do any more it would be very much appreciated. Peanut4 21:37, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

Artjoms Butorins

No. I think he only played in the juniors - I don't think he even played in the reserves though he was certainly on our books. Peanut4 (talk) 23:39, 17 November 2007 (UTC)

Try this link. It's not the greatest translation but it might be a help.

Ken Leek

By the way I've reverted your change to Ken Leek's caps. I've found more sources with 13 caps than 17 caps. Until I can get a definitive version I'm going with 13 caps. Peanut4 (talk) 22:37, 22 November 2007 (UTC)

John and Peter Middleton

I've got what I've got in Terry Frost's book from 1988 and David Markhams's Legends book just out, in which only John is featured. Peanut4 (talk) 22:49, 22 November 2007 (UTC)

Little context in Diego Penny

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Diego Penny, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Hello again, as you commented on this during the deletion discussion, I wonder if you could comment on my proposed criteria on the talk page? We now have the ridiculous spectacle of Port Vale and Notts County being described as giants when, no disrespect to their fans, they clearly aren't. As I've already removed the Havant result twice I think it would be breaking the spirit of 3RR to remove again. However, I firmly believe we need tight criteria on such a list to stop it growing exponentially. I strongly believe that a good league one side beating a weak/soon to be relegated side from the premier really can't be described as giant killing. Valenciano (talk) 18:35, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

List of Bradford City A.F.C. players

Phew. I've finally managed to complete the list of Bradford City player at List of Bradford City A.F.C. players. I still need to do some work on the list, including a few nationalities and making sure the names are correct names. I've also added a list of players at User:Peanut4/Bradford City to track any new additions which has what ought to be the correct title names for them all. However if you do create any players it might be best to search for them first. Any questions, just shout. Peanut4 (talk) 23:24, 16 December 2007 (UTC)

Gallery of Bradford City kits

Hi, don't know if you've noticed but a debate about the Gallery of Bradford City kits has been started at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football#Gallery of Bradford City kits. I've chosen so far not to make my input but make a watching brief. Maybe we ought to add something about the history of the kit in this page to improve its notability. Again any questions, just shout. Peanut4 (talk) 23:26, 16 December 2007 (UTC)
