Copper sulfate[edit]

(I'll answer here) First, I must confess that this is slightly out of my field, I guess a better place to throw this question may be the wikipedia:wikiproject chemicals, or one of the pages copper sulfate (I think this is the most well-known copper salt) or copper (the metal). I know copper ions are toxic, also to humans (toxicity is all about the actual toxicity AND the dose one gets, some toxic compounds are also deadly if you don't get any). But I know also that they are particularly toxic to algae and moss, but not so much to grass and larger plants. Maybe something is already described on copper, in the toxicity section.
