MedPix[edit]

Would be great if the images at MedPix where released under a creative commons license such that they could be used on Wikipedia.Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 18:34, 11 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Wounding if we could get some of the images uploaded to creative commons rather than just adding links to your website? Thanks --Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 20:50, 16 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yes I think I may have found us a programmer. Is there anyway you can contact the original uploaders to see if they are willing to release the content under a CC-By attribution-Share alike license?Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 20:59, 16 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
External links to your site are not nearly as good as the actual images. Also the image credits would list your site and thus probably benefit you more in traffic than adding the links at the bottom (which is sort of against the WP:ELNO policy).Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 21:03, 16 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

December 2011[edit]

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. JFW | T@lk 20:25, 17 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
