Kurt Metzger edit[edit]

The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

Hi Leo,

The text of the article was as neutral as possible and included the subject's own words without additional "biased" commentary. In response to the "not all verifiable events are suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia" assertion - Metzger has had enough of a history repeating his opinions on rape/sexual assault in public, not just in his own comedy but in multiple interviews both in print and on video (including a recent interview with Splitsider) for it to be noted in his Wikipedia article.

When a comedian repeatedly addresses an issue in public it is significant as it suggests an enduring aspect of his comedic perspective. Moreover, articles about living public figures and celebrities routinely include information regarding their personal lives (e.g. The Wikipedia article on Hugh Grant includes information regarding his legal troubles and prostitution related arrest though these have nothing to do with Grant's work as an actor).

This controversy has become a significant component of Metzger's public persona and work and deserves to be noted in the article in some form. (e.g. Extensive documentation of Donald Sterling's many controversial dealings in his Wikipedia article are considered worthwhile.) If an editor has an issue with the specific text consider rewriting it or truncating it and link back to the relevant sources I included rather than deleting it entirely.

I'd also like to suggest, with as much respect as possible, that there may be a significant gender bias regarding what is and is not worth including in a Wikipedia BLP article considering this: This is precisely the kind of amendment to an article that might be affected by the documented gender imbalance of Wikipedia editors though i'm sure you'll consider it with as little bias as humanly possible.

User:Ramcrk was adding description of celebration on the bifurcation section, like pink balloons, the kind of celebration and disruptive adding of links which are not working, I was replacing those nonworking links with a new one. Kindly help. I placed it in talk page. These are my edits repaired dead link, dead link2, dead link3,link gets redirect to here. Also, removed section unreferenced tags without improving it.--Vin09 (talk) 06:35, 14 July 2014 (UTC)

==Urdu issue== Andhra Pradesh page, see this [1]--Vin09 (talk) 17:15, 15 July 2014 (UTC)

1) I corrected the obsolete information that Nandan Nilekani was STILL chairman of UIDAI. You reinserted it despite my edit summary. This is clearly not conducive to building a quality encylopedia.

2) The other text added by me is sourced, and closely follows the reliable source cited, while respecting NPOV's tenets. More importantly, my edit adds body to the corresponding statement in the lede section which was otherwise unsupported.

Accordingly, I am reverting your edit. Mansjelly (talk) 02:37, 16 July 2014 (UTC)

@Mansjelly: Instead of blindly reverting, remove the false info. Your additions as such do not adhere to WP:NPOV.  LeoFrank  Talk 06:23, 16 July 2014 (UTC)
I did not add false info and my edit has a WP:NPOV Mansjelly (talk) 18:31, 17 July 2014 (UTC).

User talk:Krsmoorthi revisions on Bangalore changed the demographics, Tirupati page adding tamil, edit2.--Vin09 (talk) 03:59, 16 July 2014 (UTC)

@Vin09: With regards to their edit on Bangalore, I have issued a warning. For Tirupati, some other editor has already removed the Tamil scripts and on Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, I have removed both the Telugu and Tamil scripts per WP:INDICSCRIPT. This is one of the main reasons why I am against inclusion of scripts in any Indian article. But unfortunately, the community says that it should only be removed from the lead and not infobox. I don't know how removing them from the lead, but retaining them in the infobox solves the issues that are related to script addition. 15:30, 17 July 2014 (UTC)

MIchael Hearst[edit]

Hi Leo,

I'm trying to clean up the wiki entry about me. It was a lot of random sentences in a rather loose structure, jumping around chronologically. There are also several citations missing, which I've fixed, as well as some updates. Realizing people often turn to this wiki page to read about me (instead of my actual website), I figure it should at least be as coherent and up to date as possible ...

That said, thanks for doing what you do.

best, (talk) 15:03, 17 July 2014 (UTC)Michael Hearst

Your edits are not constructive and besides if you are editing an article about you, then you have a conflict of interest. Instead of vandalising the page, I'd suggest you leave it to other editors who are active on this page. And there is no deadline to develop an article.  LeoFrank  Talk 15:22, 17 July 2014 (UTC)

Vandalizing the page?? Do you know what vandalizing means? That's rather insulting. Why would I vandalize my own page? I'm trying to fix it so that it is coherent. Who knows better what I've done than ME?! — Preceding unsigned comment added by (talk) 00:13, 18 July 2014 (UTC)

Air India Express talk page[edit]

A user already provided proof on the talk page that Air India Regional and Air India Express are not Star affiliates and he already made the changes already. The discussion is already over. (talk) 16:24, 17 July 2014 (UTC)

The discussion is not over. It needs to be closed by an admin. If someone has provided proof, it doesn't necessarily imply that the discussion is over. A consensus has to be achieved. In this case, no one has opined for or against based on the proof that the user has provided.  LeoFrank  Talk 04:35, 18 July 2014 (UTC)

Merge proposal[edit]

have your view.--Vin09 (talk) 06:17, 19 July 2014 (UTC)

Thank you for your feedback on vandalism[edit]

The issue was that the editor kept undoing edits that I had made and cited from reliable sources. This had to do with order counts and Airbus fanboys like to diminish orders from Boeing even when faced with Boeing information and reports from reliable sources such as the Wall Street Journal. I guess I will suffer fools and just keep correcting until they stop undoing my fact based corrections.

Visakhapatnam City Bus Routes[edit]

Visakhapatnam City Bus Routes, is this article needed.--Vin09 (talk) 15:57, 21 July 2014 (UTC)

@Vin09: Though I am against having such articles, the community unfortunately wants to keep them. List of Metropolitan bus routes in Bangalore is another example.  LeoFrank  Talk 05:02, 22 July 2014 (UTC)

I got copyright notice, kindly help me how to respond.--Vin09 (talk) 05:04, 22 July 2014 (UTC)

@Vin09: Please go through this before responding. From what I see, you were unaware of the WP:COPYVIO policy and have made copy vio edits in error. Don't worry, just respond to the case.  LeoFrank  Talk 05:14, 22 July 2014 (UTC)
Ya I saw that, but where should I respond to that or how should I make my opinion there. Kindly help. Do we get blocked if any such is filed.--Vin09 (talk) 05:21, 22 July 2014 (UTC)
@Vin09: I have no clue on that. You should ask the person who notified you as to where to respond. You can get blocked only if you happen to continue to do the same despite all the warnings and this copyvio investigation.  LeoFrank  Talk 05:42, 22 July 2014 (UTC)
Fine, I've started correcting those sentences. Thank you.

Thanks for your message and your actions. I'm not spending that much time here at present, and the thought of raising more formal requests to do simple things puts me off. Regards, Imc (talk) 17:08, 22 July 2014 (UTC)
