Allen Ginsberg Article (edit)[edit]

The article on Ginsberg is well balanced in content overall, however it is lacking in clarity when it comes to the lead section. The section covers things that Ginsberg is most famous for that aren't covered in the following sections. For instance, a large portion of the lead section is dedicated to his poem "Howl" however it does not receive a section to it down below. The lead section also does not discuss the fact that Ginsberg was a member of the Beat movement, which is covered below. However this is very important to note in the lead section on a page that is meant to cover the life of an author. Otherwise, the article is well balanced in content, simply the presentation is a little off.

The article started in September of 2001, in its early stages it had a fraction of the information and contained a couple sentences of trivia. Its taken fourteen years for it to gain the amount of information that it has today. It has had 1653 editors, with 793 minor edits. There is an average of 1.7 days between edits, and an average of two edits per user, with around 18 edits a month and 217 edits per year. There are 1945 links to this page, and 589 links from the page. Most recently it has been edited 5 times in the past week. The talk page is used frequently to discuss the intricacies of what information should be placed on the page, debating sources to the very paragraphs that should be used by editors.

For my edit i added a little bit about the Beat Generation in the lead section, referencing Jack Kerouac and William S. Burroughs, giving all three links. --Lyehyawi (talk) 16:28, 11 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
