Thanks for noticing date of Bodmass contribution! I saw an anon edit and didn't spot that it was just a minor edit. --Concrete Cowboy 17:59, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

Hi I've started a discussion regarding this template you contributed to here.[1] Georgeg 21:05, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

Euro 2008 Group Templates

(original message from User talk:Steveweiser#Euro 2008 qualifying group templates): May I ask why you removed the tiebreaker information from the Euro 2008 qualifying group templates? What's wrong with having it in the templates? See also the discussion here. - MTC 19:41, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

I removed them from the templates because there's no point in having the seperate group threads otherwise... - Steveweiser 19:45, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
I don't understand that logic... the reason for having seperate articles for the individual groups is because of the matches. The point in having the tiebreaker information in the group templates is so that they can be updated in one place instead of three. And could you keep a discussion in one place by any chance? - MTC 19:53, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

Template:F1 cars 2003

Hi MTC. I reverted your change to Template:F1 cars 2003 in order to keep it consistent with all the other "F1 cars" templates, which are included in the relevant "season cars" category. If you feel strongly that the templates should not be included in the categories, then I'm happy to discuss it at WP:F1. -- DH85868993 12:24, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

I made that edit because as that is normal for football templates, I would have thought it would be the same any templates all over Wikipedia. It seems strange to have the template in the category, especially if it ends up sorted under T as opposed to always at the start. It would also make sense for the template to add the cars to the category itself, as opposed to seperately on the page, but if that's the standard for WP:F1, then who am I to argue with it? - MTC 14:13, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
Cool. DH85868993 01:50, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

Hi, took back out the league two venues template again as we're now a conference side. Only consolation is it means not having to play that Franchise team squatting in your city! :> WikiGull 19:58, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

Ah I forgot they were relegated, you should have said that in the edit summary (I'd add {{Conference National Venues}} now, except that still hasn't been updated for the new season), I thought you just took it out because it looked funny inside the other box. With any luck the franchise will get relegated next season too! :) - MTC 20:24, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

I have nominated this redirect page for deletion. I know it was only created as the result of a move you performed, but I thought you ought to know, as the creator of the redirect. - PeeJay 09:06, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

Grant's name

The "extra bits" are vowels. They looked fine on IE yesterday but on this Firefox browser they looked awful. In Hebrew, vowels are optional - native readers can read smoothly without them 99% of the time, ths cn b dn n nglsh s wll. --Dweller 08:10, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

Yeah I looked it up after making the edit, as I said in the edit summary there's no real reason to include them, every other article I've seen that gives a Hebrew name leaves them out as does the Hebrew Wikipedia. - MTC 08:51, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

Re:Uefa Cup 2007-08

Just bog-standard IE7. There are no green lines anywhere. I can see colour highlights on other football pages, but no coloured lines. Come to think I don't think I've ever seen coloured table lines on wiki... I'll have play in the sandbox and see if its just me. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Aheyfromhome 15:35, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

Ah, I use Firefox, this sounds like yet another problem with IE not understanding standard HTML. I've reported it here. I hope the borders are usable, they're much better than the old system of highlighting before the teams are assured of their place. - MTC 16:18, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Circuits in TOCA Race Driver 3, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. BJBot (talk) 23:45, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Template:FA Premier League Matches 2006-07 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes.

Thanks. --MZMcBride (talk) 02:33, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

keyboard layouts

Hi MTC,
you can use the us_intl variant of US keyboard layout on every keyboard, even laptops. In fact, I am using a laptop. The precise way of selecting your keyboard layout depends on your operating system.

  • for windows, I think this page should help you: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306560
  • for linux, access your kde or gnome control center and go to Regional & Accessibilty
  • for MAC, I do not know (dont have one), but it should not be too complicated either

Oxford Wikimania 2010 and Wikimedia UK v2.0 Notice

Hi,

As a regularly contributing UK Wikipedian, we were wondering if you wanted to contribute to the Oxford bid to host the 2010 Wikimania conference. Please see here for details of how to get involved, we need all the help we can get if we are to put in a compelling bid.

We are also in the process of forming a new UK Wikimedia chapter to replace the soon to be folded old one. If you are interested in helping shape our plans, showing your support or becoming a future member or board member, please head over to the Wikimedia UK v2.0 page and let us know. We plan on holding an election in the next month to find the initial board, who will oversee the process of founding the company and accepting membership applications. They will then call an AGM to formally elect a new board who after obtaining charitable status will start the fund raising, promotion and active support for the UK Wikimedian community for which the chapter is being founded.

You may also wish to attend the next London meet-up at which both of these issues will be discussed. If you can't attend this meetup, you may want to watch Wikipedia:Meetup, for updates on future meets.

We look forward to hearing from you soon, and we send our apologies for this automated intrusion onto your talk page!

Lutz Pfannenstiel infobox change

Hi,

You remarked that the old infobox was "better" for some reason. Can you explain what you mean by this? The plan is to eventually migrate all instances of the old one to use it. Chris Cunningham (not at work) - talk 20:27, 3 December 2008 (UTC)

Actually, my edit was to put your new infobox back into the article, and my summary stated that the new one (the one I put back in) is better than the old one. MTC (talk) 20:53, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
Whoops! Too much caffeine in my system. Thanks, and sorry for the confusion! Chris Cunningham (not at work) - talk 21:12, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
