Thanks for your message. The key to Wikipedia is that it's a collaborative exercise, and that editing is done within a set of guidelines and policies (some useful links are given in the Welcome message above). These make sure that all articles are written from a neutral point of view, with citations and no original research. The style should be encyclopædic – not too informal – and shouldn't address the reader directly, etc. There are also styles for the use of headings.
Generally, if you edit on a small scale, other editors will tidy up any errors that you make, and you'll find that what seems like a very complicated and huge set of rules and customs soon becomes natural to you. It's best to start that way, making small edits, gradually working up to larger-scale edits, and eventually whole new articles.
If you have any questions or problems, feel free to ask me (and you'll find that other editors are also happy to help).
Happy editing! --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 08:33, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
Your VandalProof Application
[edit]Dear Manasgarg,
Thank you for applying for VandalProof! (VP). As you may know, VP is a very powerful program, and in fact with the new 1.2 version release it has even more power. As such we must uphold strict protocols before approving a new applicant. Regretfully, I have chosen to decline your application at this time. The reason for this is that lack of mainspace edits. Please note it is nothing personal by any means, and we certainly welcome you to apply again in the not too distant future. Thank you for your interest in VandalProof. Speedy deletion of Ram raksha stotra
[edit]A tag has been placed on Ram raksha stotra requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. 9Nak (talk) 11:43, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
