Hi,

Welcome to wikipedia! Thanks for all of your edits to the von Mangoldt function... however ... they are full of errors and mistakes. Can you please fix all of the mistakes first, before proceeding any further? As a point of style, adding computer code to wikipedia math articles is strongly frowned upon; it is certainly inappropriate for this article. Please remove this, and replace, as necessary, by a proper development. Also, can you provide references for these results? As a general rule, Wikipedia does not allow "original research": the results presented should be available in textbooks or in peer-reviewed journals; linking to a blog is not really appropriate. The reason I mention this is that your additions have the general feeling of being new, original research: WP is the wrong place to report new results, and this is expressly forbidden by policy. Thanks[edit]

Thank you for correcting the spelling on my user page.

All the best, JBL (talk) 18:32, 23 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Could you provide a citation for this please? Deltahedron (talk) 17:43, 14 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The recurrence should follow from the definition of the Mobius function and it's sum over the divisors. Very elementary. Thank you for the comment. Mats

I'm sure it is, but that is not the point. Wikipedia:Verifiability policy requires material like this to be supported by references to independent reliable sources. In this case, a reference to an article in a peer-reviewed journal or a scholarly text by an established authority would be the norm. In the absence of such support, it will probably be removed as original research. Deltahedron (talk) 19:09, 14 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Once again material you added appears to be sourced entirely to a blog post on math.stackexhange.com, apparently by yourself. This is not an acceptable source. Wikipedia is not a vehicle for you to publish your own personal research. Deltahedron (talk) 15:52, 12 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Could you please provide acceptable references to the material of the section "Expansion of terms" in the page Von Mangoldt function ? Otherwise it will be removed. Your own work from mathematical forums and blogs is not acceptable references, even if perfectly correct and interesting. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and the information it contains must be sourced by independent and reliable publications. In this case: by publications in a peer-reviewed research journal. I have now removed this material for the reasons stated. Deltahedron (talk) 16:22, 12 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
