Copy and pasting[edit]

We run "copy and paste" detection software on new edits. One of your edits appear to be infringing on someone else's copyright. We at Wikipedia usually require paraphrasing. If you own the copyright to this material please send permission for release under a CC BY SA license to permissions-en@wikimedia.org per WP:CONSENT. Your contributions to the hand washing article[edit]

I am really pleased that you followed through with your announcement that you will edit the Wikipedia article on hand washing: http://forum.susana.org/forum/categories/23-hand-washing/12890-editing-the-wikipedia-page-on-handwashing

Please don't be diseheartend that our friend and awesome mentor Doc_James has reverted some (most?) of your edits. I had looked at your edits and was also wondering what happened to the strange formatting at the beginning of the article? Then secondly, the history section is indeed needed but we don't normally copy whole passages from a website. Even if you get the open access permission for it (which would be good), the text usually needs some paraphrasing to suit the Wikipedia audience, and it would also need some in-line citations. For a website or blog it's OK to write without citing any sources but for Wikipedia that is not considered good style. Perhaps you could go back to the person in your organisation who wrote the piece and ask them which sources they used?

Also my advice: if you plan to make substantial changes to the article, it is usually best to announce them first on the talk page so that people know what's going on. You can access the talk page for each article at the top left. Please let us know here or on the talk page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Hand_washing) if anything is unclear.
